most of my junctions were designed before corner speed limits. the ability to drive up hills without slowing down to turtle spees is a great feature, but the speed limits on corners, and taking ages to enter a station can sometimes be quite annoying.

Why is it all people post screenies with:
Their biggest junction?
Their best station?
There busiest factory?
People should try to post more interesting screenshots. There are a good no. of topics entitled "Best Junction Layouts" or something like that. Post that sort of thing in there!
Just my 2 pence

ah you're angry, sorry, here can things be said (replied), and you can post any pic you want, but, you posted so many pics of the same thing it wasn't fun anymore to read this topic. (every pic seemed to be the same)
but it would be fun though if everybody posted a FEW pics so that he/she can get comments

Nope not all dodo's are dead (yet), one has survived!!!
Im not trying to get into a flame war here, i understand where you are coming from, i personally cant see why pictures following a thought out storyline can not be as interesting as 'this is my busiest station'. The topic in the ttd forum is full of 'story' pics and people (such as The Irish) always comment on how nice they are, theyve put thought into their work, not just ctrl-s, post in the forums. Theyve thought it out, planned a story, and the end result is fabulous. Thats all i was trying to do!
No need to worry, ive started a new game for the biggest passenger network challenge. Screenshots to follow shortly!

I'll comment your pics
(and you're totaly right in your last post)
I strongly recomment more people to post pics, so that this thread stays fun to read!!!
Oh and a little question, how do you make your pics ''seeable'' for everybody without anybody clicking on it (I keep posting it as attachments
)
?

He crops them to under 800 wide. (I think, under ~40KB too.)dodo wrote:Oh and a little question, how do you make your pics ''seeable'' for everybody without anybody clicking on it (I keep posting it as attachments)

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Thanks dodo!
I have quite a big monitor, all i do is open the screenshots in Microsoft Office Picture Manager, supplied with Win XP, and crop the photo so it only shows the interesting parts of the photo. I then save the pictures and post them here. I think the max size allowed to post here (Owen will know though!
) is 800*600 px.
Hope that clears things up.

Ok, I got some screenshots from a sub-arctic game I've been playing for many hours.
This is the first time I've ever did anything serious in the sub-arctic (in fact, I've been playing OpenTTD for only about a week), so don't expect anything amazing. Also, you'll notice that I have chosen the above-snow-line area of my railroads, because those are the places with the best scenery, and least messy and inefficient junctions (doesn't mean that they're not there, though
). Ok, here we go. I will call the whole screenshot set: 'GOLD RUSH!' Er...yeah, have fun.
EDIT: And....NOOO! Stupid comment trunctuator!!!!!!!!! But you can live without it, I guess. Let your imagination flow...!
EDIT 2: NOOO! Preview button has failed me! Remember to look at each picture from the bottom up, or it won't make chronological sense.

- Note the date! This double-headed Centennial train has plenty of horsepower, but is as slow as the journey is long. Fortunately for you, I've only picked out the best parts. The gold-carrying train is the one to the far left, and is currently loading up.

- The landscape above the snowline is quite spectacular, and very, very difficult to navigate. Since this transport company's name is not 'Strategic Air Command', flattening whole mountains is not an option. Instead, high bridges, along with a lot of tunnel

- Having just exited from a small tunnel, the exit having been shrouded by trees, the gold-laden train rolls past Satfingburg coal mine, where a small, 6-wagon express coal train is waiting. There are many corners, but nothing a Centennial can't handle, and

My gas-guzzling train continues its journey. I'm surprised I haven't switched to maglev or monorail, even by 2046. Well, I don't fancy converting 84 trains manually.

- The train speeds past Tarnton, which is one of many villages above the snowline that are connected to the main network. However, supplying these villages with food are still in the planning stage, as the company needs to take into account the savagery of

- The snow gradually disappears as the trains head towards the low-lying land, but it seems as if the station janitors at Slunningwell Woods has made an extra effort and packed the snowly neatly together between the railroads. The Slunningwell Paper Mill is

There! The train has reached its end of the line, but I decided to post some screenshots of the return trip as well.

- Ka-ching! Having finally arrived at Winnbride station, the train unloads its valuable cargo for the greedy directors of the local bank. Though relatively small, Winnbridge is the largest city in this neighbourhood. Its growth was stimulated by the very tr

- Well, I wrote that the journey was long, didn't I? 4 months has gone by, and the train has only done half of its actual trip between the load and unload stations. The train has plenty of uphill travel left. Just look at the work the engines have to do! Th

- These mountains really do reach some pretty dizzying heights. The workers are always encouraged to go round the tallest peaks but, this time, the small village of Nendwood is in the way, and a forest grows parallel to the track on the other side. The trai

- Phew, almost home. The train drivers of the lines running above the snow-line have abandoned their former lives in the busy cities and settled for a quiet life up in the mountain stations. Some would not regard that as a smart choice, but they can't help
