Maybe there can be wagon on the "sell" button instead of train engine and train with wagon (like ThorRune's picture) on the "sell all" button. Because if you put train engine on both of them, they can be easily misstaken.
Or make the button wider so that train with wagon fits in
Or put the train horizontally! I'll try to draw it and post it.... wait a minute

update: something like this...

If a modifier key was used instead to select the 'rest of the train', then you could more quickly swap cars between slots in the window, as well as quickly remove part/all of a train. Is it feasible to change the drag and drop cursor to the rest of the train when a modifier is held? For an extremely long train, a number could indicate the lenght in carriages on the mouse cursor.

That's an excellent idea because I don't think there is any easy way to distinguish between the two buttons.

I hope you like it.

PD: I don't like the upper can in that place, it should be centered and a px farther from the upper side.

It was just an example, I'll see if I can do a new "can" soon.

Thanks a lot for the comment.

Thanathos, that's the best idea I've seen so far I think. So just work on that idea but with your own picture of a dustbin. :)

Well, Eddy's way is not bad either, if you keep the dustbins...

there is other way:
Devs should made Selling buttons horizontal (now those are vertical) and put at the bottom of the depot window ... then there will be more space and this way:
- graphic of a wagon with arrow to bin (selling wagon only)
- graphic with engine + a wagon with arrow to bin (selling whole train)
what are you looking at? it's a signature!

i prefer the multiple dustbins approach.

your dustbins look nice. but IMO they should be less blue and more grey.

and for the lower set of dustbins, the composition of them IMO is lacking a bit. i think there are either too many dustbins in the row (i.e. 4 rather than 3 or 2) or they are to spaced out.

it looks a bit to visually intence IMO.

the reason i prefer the single dustbin, and 2-3 dustbins rather than the trains and the dustbins. is because simplicity is a good thing for interface design. the train images are very small on my screen and just serve to confuse me a bit more. whereas i can understand one dustbin vs multiple dustbins.

but yeah good work.

I wanted to draw blueish grey becouse it looks like it's made from metal.
