Colonel32, it looks great but we'll need cars that are loaded, half loaded, unloaded, loading, etc...

Shading is not that difficult, just remember that in TTD light come from the right, so all you have to do is make the right side somewhat lighter than the left side.

And could you do the shading?

after the shading is done, all the loadnig stages should be done.

BTW: you said it looks great. Do you really mean it?
If you find any mistakes or see anything that should be changed, jest tell me. I learn by trial and error.

very good, but after I saw the picture, I realise that the car is somewhat high in all views.

But it looks very nice! Keep up the good work!

I thought it would be nice to have a list of things to draw.

First we need a list of every type of cargo.

Then we need at least 1 car for every type of cargo.

There are two options (I believe) when we have more cargo carriages than types of cargo:

 1. We need refit option. This way you can decide which car you want for a specific type of cargo. (You want Shell tanker, you want BP tanker, whatever). So you can use these tankers too for products as water or milk (or whatever cargo types are liquid)

 2. We use randomize option. You buy some oil tanker and you got shell tankes, bp tankers, whatever tanker, in your train. This way you don't have to refit carriages.

So next to do:

- List of cargo types
- List of vehicles to be in European Cargo Set (if you have a request, just post it!)
- Decide if we want to use option 1, 2 or another one

Colonel32,

It's better but still to high.

Try to cut off another whole pixel in height. Now it looks like the original Iron Ore Hopper while it the photo you posted looked more like the Coal Truck. (In all views)

And add a colum of 1 pixel in / view at the right end, and in \ view at the left end.

I really don't want to lower it anymore, because it has to be higher than those 2-axle Es coal cars.

I don't think they're too high. They look good to me. Try comparing them with a picture (hint: search for bietencampagne)

Vehicle suggestions

Very important is the Falns coal/ore hopper:

And the ore/stone/grain hopper Fcs (I think Raven drew one):

Long tankers for oil/gas aka. goods (first is for oil, second for gas):

Sliding-wall cars like MB did:
[google for schiebewand-wagen, there are too many different]

I've made a quick spreadsheet with some info.

What do you all (broodje, mauro, Raven, Saskia, Snorbuckle) think about it?

Wow people, you've posted an awesome amount of things since yesterday, hehe,
Purno, I think we should

 Combine 1 and 2, so we could have some random wagons for a specific type of wagon, such as for example, Shell, Esso, etc for Oil, White, grey Blue (?), for Goods, and so on.

The biggest set i've seen till now, the dbxl is something about 3000 out of 11000 sprites, so we can exteeeeend as much as we like.

About my drawings, I've found a Märklin catalogue and just went mad drawing , heheh, so there are just side views and are only roughly sketched.
When we know what we want i'll finish them off.
I would like to help on planing, but have work to do, Anyway, if you need some heavy graphic work, i'll like to do it, just pm to tell me, cause I don't connect too often and get lost in these thousand of posts.

I suggest to reduce them to a minimum, not posting the little improvements in asingle wagon every time, but updating the attachment, and talk about small things via chat - pm. As i said, just a suggestion...

Keep up the good job!.

NEWS:

Eas is now available in 2 different versions:
->Brown and ->Red
you can find both so I suggest, that it would show random liverty, defined by parameter:
1: only brown
2: both, trains consists of one type only
3: both, random liverty for each carrige
