Here are some more of my graphics. Two little Dutch busses. I once made a large one, but I think that one was too big to fit in the game :?

Sorry to offtopic a bit:

To change grfcodec isn't that easy ...

Action Colors, If you like a visual display of action colors try the coordinates3d.png on my site  It's a palette based png file so the palette indexes should right aswell.
TTDPatch dev in retirement ... Search a grf, try Grf Crawler 0.9 - now with even faster details view and new features...

I've made some elements for Dutch stations (signs, roofs, platforms).

These could be used with the suggested Station Creator tool, or else it needs a coder :?

Hmm I like the busses +stations
We should think about that :)

I haven't mastered nfo-ing the stations yet. I think I understand the general idea, but Patchman always makes sure my idea of how it works is totaly worng :)
Anyway before I will do anything extra I should finish a bunch of emu's for the ns set :D.

BTW as a sugestion, you should try to pixel some dutch steam engines :)

I hope you won't mind a little bit of critics, it can only make it even better... ;-) (We are planning to migrate to PNG files with some easier interface than NFO files in mid-term perspective with OTTD, see OpenTTD Development for details.)

I think your graphics misses some areas for company-specific color (or is that the dark gray?). Also, differences between the buses being only in color is not enough, I think, there should be at least some minor difference in the shape as well. And regarding the stations, are the houses big enough, compared to the signs nearby? (How big are they in reality, do you have any photo?) Also there is probably slight glitch in the perspective of the houses, they appear to be not quite lined up with the global train station perspective but rotated by few degrees.

You don't know any Dutch buses or stations so I think you didn't understand it correctly.

The two buses are real Dutch buses, the buses's shapes are almost the same but they are from two different companies. The color difference is only for reality, not for gameplay.

The station doesn't have any company color. The signs are maybe somewhat big, but else you can't see any detail.

The buildings on the platforms are not houses, but just small shelters for people when it rains for example. The station in this example doesn't have a building.

Exactly. And that's it, gameplay and reality is not always same. I think it's
quite important for gameplay to be able to easily identify each company's
vehicles based on their colors.

I think they could do being a little smaller but that's matter of opinion. I
think it's not very practical to have stations not in company color, though.

Yes I thought they won't be real houses but I didn't know what they were in
reality. I just want to say that they don't quite line up with the train
station contours.

Of course, these are just ideas and some feedback from a fresh new person... ;)

Fences color aren't much useful for road vehicles, and even for rails they don't work out everytime - especially in arctic/tropic climate on snow/desert.

zero1000 wrote:about the german sign posts, both shapes are possible (the 1st one is a little bit more common):
I think colors and shapes should be "random", because each country uses its own colors.

Here in France, blue is used to tell the destination is by speedway. Green for "bis" way (if we don't want to take speedway - in France we must pay to use speedways) and white to tell we will use normal way. Yellow is used only for "deviation" (when the way is blocked and we must use another way).

Here is a list off all types of french direction pannel. You can see there are a lot ! I think it's the same in each country, so random colors will be better ;)

MagicBuzz, I suspect you want me to draw these French sign-posts?
