You are right that there OUGHT to be a large passenger liner, after all the Titanic was in 1912. The trouble is that there is no slot to add anything, the only way to add something would be to take something else out.

This monitor I'm using is kinda dark, but it looks better to me. Real Shinkansens are very shiny gloss white, and so you wouldn't expect the difference to be very great, but it's there - and I think you've modeled that about as well as it's possible to do with the limited pallete. Thanks! Looking forward to the rest!
I'm traveling so I can't update the table, but I will when I get home.

for me, the most desired thing is a set of new station graphics (which can easily be fitted in the checkpoint-building thingie with the cool arrow thingies) which are probably time-bond.
maybe a good idea is to contact the fellows from Urban-thing, since they already made a new station graphic, just for the sake of putting it in.
second, new bridge graphics. i like the ones now, but they are, well... maybe just a little too standard. again, the Urban-expansion dudes have created cool additional (futuristic) ones already, so it's time to ask them again.
since i am someone who whines but doesn't take action, you probably have no thing for this message. but just spouting out my opinion on things makes me feel better already.

MB is working on stations for his forthcoming Alpine set and I think also his DBset. The US set will eventually have station graphics also.astath wrote: for me, the most desired thing is a set of new station graphics (which can easily be fitted in the checkpoint-building thingie with the cool arrow thingies) which are probably time-bond.
The Patch doesn't really support new graphics in the same way that it does new trains. I'm hoping this will change but I'm not sure.astath wrote: second, new bridge graphics. i like the ones now, but they are, well... maybe just a little too standard. again, the Urban-expansion dudes have created cool additional (futuristic) ones already, so it's time to ask them again.

We (the NS-team) have talked about new station graphics in the NS Set. I don't know if there are really coming new graphics, but at least we've talked about it, and I thought someone would give it a try drawing them.krtaylor wrote:MB is working on stations for his forthcoming Alpine set and I think also his DBset. I'm actually optimistic that the bridge graphics code will be improved before too long. Suddenly two new Patch developers have appeared. I suspect we can talk one of them into tinkering with that as soon as eis_os is done with the higher bridges changes.

I'm less optimistic. It's just like the American Transition set you are working on, krtaylor. You can only enjoy it because it overrules the original TTD graphics. They can't be used next to eachother. To make that happen there should be a patch that allows different sources for graphics next to eachother.
I don't understand what you mean. The US set is trains, no trainsets include bridges. They are separate. Right now you can't replace bridges the way you can trains, but I'm hopeful that the Patch will allow this at some point in the future. I would think it would work like the new stations - you can add as many possibilities to the list as you like.

You can replace bridges like you replace trains, see what Andrex did in his roadset! Just refer to the sprites that need to be replaced, tell the grf to look at your sprites instead et voila (that's french). But what you can't do is use the original bridges and new bridges together. And I thought you were aiming for that.
1. Yes you can replace bridge graphics, but not easly because most of the bridges use the same graphics, just in different colors. And you can't replace them with a GRF file, only an EXE file, which also means you can't change their properties.
2. There is a Planeset under way, go and visit its thread. Maybe you can contribute too.

this is not true, you can replace them with a grf, you can do ANYTHING with a grf that you can do with an exe. But it is true that you can't change any properties.krtaylor wrote:1. Purno, I'm back home and I updated the Japan table with your Shinkansen 0. Which one would you like to work on next?
