How to make new sounds?
Hi all.
I'm working on a couple of my mods, and I'm trying to figure out how to make new sound effects such as horns, engine sounds and how to make a new forest sound.
Does anyone know how to make any? Stuff like what kind of audio format and XML coding info would be very appreciated.
P.S. How can I add a new forest sound effect? Will it make a new tab in the advanced scenario editor or will I just have to replace the existing sound?
P.S.S. What is the forest sound even called?

all sound files must have a .wav file and a .xml file with this configuration. and you must comple both together with wrapper.

@griffinrails
I am not sure. But I think the sound from the forest comes from the .exe file. If necessary, I don't know a file with this effect.

I think he wants to make an invisible vehicle that has a forest sound. Not to sure about that though.Walter1940 wrote: 08 May 2022 12:28 @griffinrails

Re: How to make new sounds?
Walter's guess is right, it's the sounds that occurs when several trees are added.
Thanks for the help norfolksouthern16.

Re: How to make new sounds?
I've made a test sound for the SAR Redhen Railcar, one of Walter's assets. It's being tested on a built in DAT at the moment, should go all to plan.

Re: How to make new sounds?
Ok i may be sticking my neck out , but the forest sound the sea sound and the high mountain sound are all found in the data folder css2.dat is the high mountains sounds - css3.dat is the sea sounds - css4.dat is the forest sounds. as far as i can tell they are all wav files . i have often just played the locomotion music which is also in the data folder. copy it else were change the .dat to .wav and most media players will just play it. hope this is helpful
