Polish Buildings as Objects (update to v2.0)

This NewGRF contains objects made from the sprites of the beautiful Polish Building Set 0.1 (by TadeuszD ), supplemented by several buildings from Polish Buildings Set 1.4.0 (by Sojita) and by some newly drawn sprites.

All objects are snow-aware; additionally, some objects feature elements that are recoloured either by a random company colour or the player's company colour (via Parameters).

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe that 1.4 is actually older...

Nevertheless, I could pick and choose some additions for a future update; especially if the development of 0.1 is picked up again.

It's really strange with those Polish buildings.
Version 1.4 lacks snow sprites and doesn't work in subarctic or alpine climates, but version 0.1 also can't work if another set of buildings is active. The fact that version 1.4 didn't even work before 1900, while version 0.1 did, would again suggest otherwise.

It's replacement was developed by TadeuszD and named "Polish Building set 0.1", published on March 30, 2015. It includes a recode into NML and some snow sprites. It was noted as being still under development and not ready for game play yet (although I've had almost no issues with it).

On July 11, 2023 Warhauzer (TUFKA McZapkie) announced he would resume development and eventually publish the source code on GitHub. He is working through some inconsistencies between the last two releases.

Actually, my buildings are not in "v4". They were supposed to be in a refreshed set by TadeuszD (Polish Building Set 0.1), but that project was never released.

@chujo: great work! Could you create a parameter that allows to place buildings in the scenario editor only? I could then safely place specific buildings on my map of Poland for servers. Polish Lighthouses by yazalo has this functionality.

Could you create a parameter that allows to place buildings in the scenario editor only? I could then safely place specific buildings on my map of Poland for servers.

It didn't occur to me that there would be demand for it.
So, I added one parameter for Scenario Editor plus another one for "Irremovability" for good measure (makes more sense for the Lighthouses newgrf, but it could come in handy....).

And while I'm updating, I thought I could add extra buildings as objects from your "v4" (per Quast65's suggestion).
The thing is, Polish Buildings Set 1.4.0 on BaNaNaS is licensed under CC-BY-SA v3.0 - but my objects are under GPL v2 (that's what I believed "0.1" to be).

I remember that after I drew some buildings for TadeuszD (for his new set), he asked me to make them under the GPL license (probably GPL v2), instead of CC-BY-SA v3.0, to avoid problems with different licenses. So I did. I don't know if TadeuszD had permission from Sojita to use his buildings under the GPL license, but if he started developing it based on PBS v4, he probably had.

Looks like it will take longer then I thought to sort it out, so before I start a high-school-like drama over voluntary licensing of fan-made mods for an open-source game, I'm gonna upload the version with parameters.

There are two versions of "Polish building set" (see discussion above), so you're probably using the one without historic buildings.

More than a year later, I deliver on my promise.

The NewGRF has been updated to version 2.0, which includes the buildings mentioned by you + some extras and fixes.
