2.6 "Nightly" download location
I announce that http://roboboy.users.tt-forums.net/TTDPatch/nightlies/ is now open for browsing. You can download all nightlies compiled by developers who choose to use the site for uploading their builds. There are links to the old official nightly site plus links to useful sites or files. If you are a developer and want FTP access, PM me and I can arrange a personal FTP account for you. If you have any issues or suggestions for the site, post them in this thread.
---Old post
Until I have commit access to the TTDPatch SVN repository, this topic will be the download location for new developer compiled "nightly" binaries. Once I have commit access, I will be launching a website similar to the one at http://nightly.ttdpatch.net/latest for downloading developer compiled "nightlies". All the usual warnings will still apply to these versions as the nightlies from http://nightly.ttdpatch.net/.

Re: 2.6 "Nightly" download location
I just gave it a try ...
My observations :
a) It is r2368 and not r2367 what you have uploaded.
b) as you only modified a text ID, r2366 and r2368 should be of the same length. They are not, so something may be missing :
r2366 = 630,894 bytes
r2368 = 611,990 bytes
c) when starting I get the following messages. The warning used to be the case in the past, but it was fixed and I haven't sen that warning for a long time. BTW, I always delete TTDLOADW.OVL before starting the game.
I did continue and the game starts normally.
d) Normally, it takes 2 to 3 seconds to start TTDPatch, r2368 takes at least 10 to 15 seconds.

Re: 2.6 "Nightly" download location
Woopsie. Will change the post in a sec to say that it is r2368. I will upload a correctly named zip in the morning as I am on a tablet now. Lake made code changes to fix the tooltip for the new objects button so that explains the length difference. Not sure about the warnings or difference in startup times. I compiled it with
I couldn't find anything else about how to build a non debug version.

Re: 2.6 "Nightly" download location
The difference likely comes from a lack of version data in the executable. The warning is effectively TTDPatch informing the user of that fact. It's really a non-issue in the scheme of things though.
Building the version data shouldn't be too difficult.
[Edit] Also, there is usually a smallish difference in size when compiling executables with different compiler set-ups.

The next Windows binary I post will have version information for the version OzTrans and I have.
Edit: Why aren't the version files in the SVN repo?

Re: 2.6 "Nightly" download location
I'm not sure, I believe they are considered too volatile. It's not really an issue not having them in the SVN (and it saves on the effort developers have to do for commits).

If you talk to Rubidium/orudge, they might be able to get the compile farm working for TTDPatch again, rather than you having to set up a new site for it

Thanks for links I didn't know that something above 2.5 exist.
I have only TTDPatch 2.5 beta 9 [2006].

Re: 2.6 "Nightly" download location
What's the point of sticking to TTDPatch after all those years? Hasn't OpenTTD surpassed it in every possible way? I'm just curious.

Because it's fun.
I sometimes crank up the original just for a change of pace. It's also a good way to appreciate just how much the game has evolved.

Re: 2.6 "Nightly" download location
Any ideas what are the requirements for TTO Full Conversion v1.4 ?
viewtopic.php?p=1251785#p1251785
Partially solved. TTDPatch is needed for TTO Full Conversion.

Re: 2.6 "Nightly" download location
While checking up on the website I created and linked to in the first post of this thread, I noticed that the old official nightly hosting page refuses to load with an SSL error. https://binaries.ttdpatch.net/nightlies/trunk/ fails to load with the error
It would be nice to still have access to the old versions however I don't think anyone should rush to fixing it.This site can’t provide a secure connectionbinaries.ttdpatch.net uses an unsupported protocol.
