Re: SNCF : French Trainset
doh!
I just realized the broad and standard are not the same
I'll remove any reference of those xUSSR rails as french trains are not compatible at all with broad gauge

I tried this new railtypetable :Brickblock1 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2023 20:48 I think that a large part of these problems are that you have xussr railtypes in you list which makes v4 think that your trains are broad gauge. You could try removing these but that would mean that your trains don't work as well with xussr rails.
Code: Select all
railtypetable {
UNELECTRIFIED: [ SAAN, RAIL ],
ELEC: [ SAAE, ELRL ],
AC15: [SAAa, SAAE, ELRL],
AC25: [SAAA, SAAE, ELRL],
DC03: [SAAD, SAAE, ELRL],
DC15: [SAAd, SAAE, ELRL],
AC25DC03: [ SNC4, SAAE, ELRL ],
AC25DC15: [ SNC4, SAAE, ELRL ],
DC15DC03: [ SNC3, SAAE, ELRL ],
AC25AC15DC15: [ SNC1, SAAE, ELRL ],
AC25DC03DC15: [ SNC2, SAAE, ELRL ],
AC25AC15DC03DC15: [ SAAE, ELRL ],
}
I still see the same problems.
With SMITS it still work as expected appart that the DC15 trains can use DC03 rails and AC15 can use AC25 rails, but it was already the case before the change, and I don't know how to fix this. In fact in you SMITS "D" includes "d" and "A" includes "a" but this should not be the case.

Re: SNCF : French Trainset
We always had to change the locomotive when a train arrived from the USSR. He reached the border with Slovakia and couldn't go any further.
Re: SNCF : French Trainset
The French Set I've been working on for quite a while now will have the following railtypes:
This roughly matches with the introduction of incrementally heavier types or rails, and different types of electrification. I would suggest to follow a similar schema.
Of all these, only SABM is currently coded though
Code: Select all
Name Max axle wgt Speed Available Power
SAaN 13 t 85 km/h 1840 None
SAAN 15 t 100 km/h 1860 None
SAAE 15 t 100 km/h 1895 1.5kV catenary
SAA3 15 t 100 km/h 1895 3rd rail
SAAZ 15 t 100 km/h 1895 1.5kV cat + 3rd rail
SABN 18 t 130 km/h 1890 None
SABE 18 t 130 km/h 1895 1.5kV catenary
SAB3 18 t 130 km/h 1895 3rd rail
SABZ 18 t 130 km/h 1895 1.5kV cat + 3rd rail
SADN 22.5 t 200 km/h 1920 None
SADE 22.5 t 200 km/h 1920 1.5kV catenary
SBDA 22.5 t 250 km/h 1950 25kV catenary
SBDB No graphics (to be adopted by pre-TGV polytension engines)
SCDB 22.5 t 360 km/h 1975 25kV
Of all these, only SABM is currently coded though

Re: SNCF : French Trainset
It seems to me that the slowest 25 kV tracks should have a maximum speed of no more than 160 km/h. At this speed, level crossings can be built and it is an appropriate speed for lines served by conventional trains (BB 16000, BB 15000, etc.).
Re: SNCF : French Trainset
But that would not be enough for newer mainline electrics such as the CC6500. I'm not sure if requiring the player to upgrade their tracks in the 1970s would be a good idea, especially because this did not take place historically.
You mean that OTTD automatically disallows level crossings if the speed limit is above 160 km/h? Is there no way around this?

No, the railtype GRF determines if level crossings are allowed, irrespective of the track speed
Re: SNCF : French Trainset
Hello,
Here is an update of the set.
Still work in progress.
I still need graphics contributions as I won't draw any...
Added :
Cargo wagons Etat 1 (bulk, covered and flat) (dual speed, dual capacity)
Cargo wagons Etat 2 (bulk, covered and flat) (dual speed, dual capacity)
Cargo wagons OCEM 19 (bulk, covered and flat)
Cargo wagons OCEM 29 (bulk, covered and flat)
Cargo wagons Standard USA (bulk, covered and flat)
Cargo wagons UIC-ORE (bulk, covered and flat)
Cargo wagons Standard SNCF (bulk, covered and flat)
BB7200 "Nez cassé" engine
X4500 "Caravelle" EMU
Removed :
Small wagons (except passenger, mail and liquid)
Medium wagons (except liquid)
Not any of there addition have graphics. It's ugly.
Il will now focus on liquid and container wagons and to 1963+ wagons.

Re: SNCF : French Trainset
Just discovered this set and like it a lot for my large F-CH-D-AT-IT map where France so far had to be represented by the SNCB set which worked pretty well since many engines share a quite similar design concept but of course the color schemes are wrong. Good to now have a genuine SNCF set.
However, I noticed that with the BB 12000 ("flat iron"), the colors are different depending on the angle the loco is shown, as some pieces appear blue and others green. There were both color variants, but in the set, they seem to be mixed up, which looks weird and thus I disabled this engine since it really looks strange.
Any chance to fix this?
BTW - since you were looking for graphics: the Swiss SBB set although almost a decade old now offers some freight railcars which match quite nicely with the locos from the SNCF set in terms of dimensions and colors - maybe you can borrow from there?
Re: SNCF : French Trainset
Hello ebla71,
Thank you for your bug report, and sorry for the very long respond time.
The BB 12000 is now fixed.
I also found that some pixels were using the 2CC palette, then as a result it was looking weird depending you company color scheme.
Now it's only blue.
Have fun!
