It's great! I tried playing around with it a bit and built a great marshalling yard. It is brilliant! It took me a little longer to put it together as I imagined and there are still a lot of things to be done. This is a old set I did way back in 2016 of fake railway lines with Australian New South Wales freight wagons and coaches.
I had lost the source so forgot about it and today going through some old CDs that I found hiding on me. On it are some of the old projects I did between 2015 and 2018.
So thought I would revive it again.
The idea was to make some fake marshaling yards like in this image.
Fake Tracks.png
It also has Survey Markers so you can map out where you want to lay your railway tracks and not cost you an arm and a leg.
I hope eventually do work on this again and make it a bit easier to find the pieces and more variety of rolling stock.

Forgot to upload the source in case some other codes might like to use and change the freight wagons and coaches to suit the trains they use in their games.

Forgot to mention .. when I first made this set I added the Fake Main lines and Survey Markers to use in Scenario Editor. I would place these where railways lines should go to help prevent towns building where they not suppose to. When start to pay the game just a matter of replacing these Fake Railway lines and Survey Markers with proper railway lines. The Fake Tracks are rusty so you know they not been used.

There was suppose to have been a lot more added to this set, but when I lost it I never tried re-making it. Fun part when I get chance to work on it again and what coding I have learnt since .. especially the multi-select coding .. I believe I can improve it heaps.belgi wrote: 13 Apr 2023 20:24 It's great! The shunting engines was the last bit I was coding and was suppose to have engines available on all 3 tracks .. but was never able to finish it.
Might be a good thing for me to work on while I figure out the best way to make the "Herding Livestock to Markets"

Subject: Eye Candy Tractor
Testing a idea of a single road with a tractor.
While working on the HerdingLivestock project I came up with this idea this morning so had to give it a try. It is a single farm road that is in the center of the tiles and a tractor that will travel on this road. It has no left or right side.
The tractor is Eye candy for now and it travels around the road on the farm.
Got some other ideas to add to this but hope to finish the HerdingLivestock project first.
You can give it a try if like.

I would very strongly like to suggest that you dont mix up too much features within one single GRF...
You are making a lot of GRF's (nothing wrong with that by the way, keep on going), but it is already difficult for people to find certain stuff.
It will make it even harder if you are putting roads and vehicles inside Object-GRF's...
I would very much like to suggest to add the roads (so also the Beachroad and the StockRoad in HerdingLivestock) to your Auz-Road-GRF
And put the tracktor (and maybe other new vehicles that are in the same kind of category) into a new separate GRF.
This will keep it a bit more clear and easier to find

But, not when you have your settings on Right-hand drive...

Maybe these 3 be in a set road set together but not necessary with my other roads. Probably each road have its own parameter so can disable the ones they not want to use.

When I first made the livestock I test both roads and worked perfect. To have those hogging all the road I might need a US and a UK set.
I been forgetting that this game is all optical allusion .. the ones that hog all the road they don't really .. they just like a tall vehicle.

I got some thinking to do. While I thinking how to fix the road hogs I will make a separate road set with the Beachroad, Stock Route and the Farm road until its time to go get the bus to a railway station. Sometimes sitting watch trains help the brain.

Just tested the military and other pieces that hog the whole road and they definitely need adjusting.
I thinking maybe I should make a separate UK set and a US set.

Martin has unintentional given me a idea in one of his photos of a hedge fence with shrubs.
So I cam up with this idea and wonder would you use it in your games? If so I will make gates and slope pieces to go with these.

AuzBeachObjects now has the issue that when you disable the road via Parameter, that the whole GRF gets an error.
Same issue as before with that vehicle-set.
Needs investigation, please post your current sources for the beach-objects.
AuzFarmObjects still has the Parameters for a road, were those not removed?
Also, if you use the parameter, same issue as above happens, GRF disables itself due to an error.
Also, please post current source.

I think I may have seen the issue... Because you also have other parameters for the road, those may cause an issue when the actual road is disabled, as the item_stockroute they referr to isnt active anymore.
What happens if you move:
to the top of that piece of code?
So just before:
I wonder if it will then disable the entire part of the code, when you disable a road and then no more references to item_stockroute rermain...

However, I am a bit sceptical if it will have enough contrast relative to the green background of temperate climate as this here is desert, right?
Could you check and maybe use a slightly brighter green if not distinct enough from background tile?
Also, some diagonal piece would be nice to align the boundaries better with the edges of the screen. In the "old fence set" you had some that were nice, but with the newer ones only these 90 degree corners are possible.

You have some cars in AuzCarPark. We have an object for firecar in Fake Airport set. Would it be possible for you to take one (some) of the car you already made add the flasher and turn them in police and ambulance cars?
