[OpenTTD] West Country "512" is a doubled world-size recreation of the original classic. I've always loved playing this map but the world always felt too small. Since we lack the tools to rescale worlds I took the simple approach of upscaling the heightmap and building the infrastructure/world from there on. It's not perfect and I am not a fan of hilly terrain so I kept to the original flat, adding some bumps here and there to spice it up (based on the source heightmap).
This is a version 1.0. I just wanted to share it. Plus if anyone has some feedback, any feedback is more than welcome. Good and bad.
There is plenty to do, but as a "just make it bigger" I feel it is fairly complete to me and has enough noise to not feel flat and boring on this larger world-canvas (maybe). Hopefully I did not make too many mistakes, such as wrongful spelling of town names and so forth. Some of the built-in world editing tools are a little limiting and rely on randomization so a perfect clone was not possible - but would have been my goal had the tools allowed superuser abilities to customize trivial details. E.g., specific house placements in towns, model colours (factory roof) so on. Still I am fairly happy with it.

TL;DR: It's the West Country, but the world is twice as big to fit all your crazy railroad tracks and junctions.
It is close, but not a true 1:1 recreation.
