OpenTTD NewGRF Competition - January/February 2022

I would like to apologise for providing a theme that did not lead to a large amount of applications.

I discussed with GarryG and he had a fantastic theme idea.

The fourth theme is Old Buildings.
Whether it be blacksmiths, castles or fantasy cities. Let your creativity go wild.

Feel free to make any NewGRF that you think suits this theme. This can include vehicles, objects, industries, etc. Whatever you think fits.
I’m looking forward to what all of you have in store for us.

Be interesting what you come up with.

I going through all my projects and getting all the objects that can be suitable pre-1900s and placing them in one set. Then see what others I can make.

Got renovated after the painter bought it. But still a building from 1917

I think any thing older then me is old enough for this comp. I might be wrong but I sure pyramids (at least some of them) are older then me.

I've had my head in the clouds lately so hope com e back down soon and do more to the old buildings.

This where I up to. Many buildings only have front views so need to do views from behind.

Starting from bottom left and following the road. We have 2 houses (yet to make reverse of these), blacksmith, shop, wharf, flats (or units), around the corner have a coal mine, now along the back road, some cabins, school with weather shed, and church. I think I could add some more cemetery with less head stones for small towns.

I added the game file if like to try what I done so far and maybe send me a few suggestions.

Playing around with the old houses and back yards.

1 set of back yards failed to code properly .. but this still give you idea what I trying to do.

Making 2 sets of these old houses ..
1 with out fences so can be on its own or have back yards also without fences.
The other with the fences to be used with the back yards with fences.

These old style houses usually found near mines and industrial areas of towns.

Hope have game update in coming days.

I've been shown how to include these in actual towns which I plan to do some time after the new year .. first I get some more old building done, especially old shops.

I'll upload the game file here, but your are reminded WARNING the back yards will interfere with any games you have going with the previous upload as had to change some ID's and coding.

The new old Houses and back yards are Multi-Tile with 4 selections in each.

Thanks .. glad you like them. What do your place look like as you say you have a garden to look after. Maybe a person can make a model of it as well.

Update:
* Previous houses some of them have front fences
* Previous houses some of them have a front room n the veranda (porch).
* Made some house on piers (pylons) with and without fences.

Plans:
* Add more back yards as I forgot the vegie gardens and chickens.
* A few more old houses
* Some old shops that was found in small towns

Question for you all?

What colour was the old houses back in the 1800s? What photos I can find show many plan weatherboard and not painted and some appear to be painted with what they called white wash. Hard to tell what other colours they might had been.

Will have a break from these for a while and work on something else.

So far we only have two contestants, which is below the threshold of three to go to voting. We still have 3.5h left to go, so should someone come in with a last minute entry, we might still go to voting today.
Failing that, this competition will continue into December.
