As far as I know you cannot "buy" GTA:SA online and download it. You need to get a CD or.... use somewhat less legal means.jvassie wrote:Can't find anywhere to get an online copy of SA... Anyone still plays SA:MP, some 10 years later? It would be fun to get back into some decent RPing

Re: San Andreas MultiPlayer (SAMP)
SA:MP is still going strong, as of this post there were 60,000 concurrent players (taken from stats at SA:MP Official Site).
Most roleplay servers are dead now, except for foreign language ones (usually Polish or Russian). I still have a server, but it isn't roleplay, just a derby type thing.

Re: San Andreas MultiPlayer (SAMP)
I still visit SkR (Exhibit Gaming, these days) which sometimes tries to RP. Mostly it's just freeroam though.

Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)

I tried SA:MP again a few months ago but it has lost some of its appeal, perhaps that it's not the same people that play anymore or perhaps that there are newer games with more and better features, but San Andreas will always be San Andreas.

Re: San Andreas MultiPlayer (SAMP)
It also helps that GTA IV & V online are rubbish.
Re: San Andreas MultiPlayer (SAMP)
GTA V Online would be amazing if I had a crew if people who could actually play. Which I don't. Because most players are half my age and completely rubbish.
I tried the SkR server the same day I posted here. I recognised 0 names, which is a shame because I was part of the staff only a few years back.

If I remember rightly, you're part of the Xbox gang aren't you? You need a PS4, or I need an Xbox One, probably that one actually, I wanna play Forza too!Chrill wrote:GTA V Online would be amazing if I had a crew if people who could actually play. Which I don't. Though, I do probably fit into the half your age category, after all, you are 38+ aren't you
Re: San Andreas MultiPlayer (SAMP)
I'm certainly not 38+, thank you very much! I'm 26
But yes, GTA V is Xbox One for me. GTA:SA and SA:MP is PC though! Xbox One is also Forza territory which I play a lot.

Re: San Andreas MultiPlayer (SAMP)
Amazingly, I still have staff on my current server that were part of the original roleplay server I made back in 2007, a guy who goes by the name of Confucius.

That's somewhat impressive actually. Do you still play yourself?Redirect Left wrote:Amazingly, I still have staff on my current server that were part of the original roleplay server I made back in 2007, a guy who goes by the name of Confucius.
