I send game to him, with this fast population dropping he will have bigger chance to catch the bugspaceman-spiff wrote:Well, if he could stop town degradation it would inspire people to play Mr. Power's scenario'sSHADOW-XIII wrote:I have once 22.000
to anyone, I'm sending scenario to Marcin for checking towns
I hate fountains and statues so much I could take a hammer and destroy them all
and about hammer, if you want to know I always destroy them in TTD in my towns

but they will still be fountain (only graphic will be diffirent)Patch/Graphics people: Would it be possible to make a grf which would change the stats of buildings, eg. make the fountain something far more useful?
what are you looking at? it's a signature!

City Growth feedback
TT-Forum Family;
I'm with you, Mr. Shadow-XIII. There are [6] tiles that is not needed, especially for pop. growth. [3] Of these are Parks, Statues, & Fountains. These items have NO pop. value and are far too many. Something ought to be done to eliminate, or be changed to an asset instead of a liability. The other [3] tiles are Theater, Cinema, and Warehouses. These look good in the city, but, give you only 35 people. And they seem to appear on every block! Warehouses only give you 8 people. If you notice as you start my scenarios, There ain't any! But, like it's been said before, they will be shortly, and that sucks! If I was as smart as the "Pros", I'd take this town degrading issue as a priority and turn these [6] pests into something fun. Why do we have to have them at all?
And I appreciate you, Mr. Shadow-XIII, sending Mr. Marcin the scenario. I have a lot of confidence in the fine man, and, he will fix this problem, and then it will be as Mr. Prof. Frink said turned into something more useful.
Always

Dear Mr. Jim Powers,
I have started to play you "xtreem" scenario a few times now, have not yet figured out what the best way is.
I start to build the 12 airports and put some plans to work. Than i start to buy all ground tiles in the citys where the subs ll come in the future, but i can't be quick enough, here and there the towns already buid some thing on the spaces.
The towns dont allow much dynemiteing, then i start the big bribing, but officials are verry awake and discove my work
All this makes it verry hard to get the first sub run.
Ill keep trying, have to find a solution, i like your scenario, and when i have it running ill report again.

Another answer, this is how I did it
Immediately, press F1, then look for all the subway places and put your stations while paused, the towns can not build over them
Seeing as destroying trees makes your rating worse, I had no problem placing all my stations and airports, because there were no trees there
If there are trees in the scenario, edit it first and remove all trees
This way you shouldn't need bribe or AI companies, cause then you're stuck with those annoying AI companies

Do This First
Dear Mr. Zimmlock;
I'm glad you asked this, Sir. The new way is as Mr. spaceman-Spiff suggested, Put in the stations while on 'Pause'. I've not tried this way yet, but, it has to work. What I do is: 1st lay my RR tracks, even over were stations are to be. I even do this outside of the city limits, because, you never know when or where a 'Coal Mine' suddenly appears. 2nd, I install my Airports and airplanes flying. I do in this the same way as Mr. Spaceman-Spiff. Go to the Editor and remove the trees before starting the game. Now, this gives you time and money to build your Subways at the pace you want them to begin. One more thing, while you're at the Editor, Blow up your road tunnels which I used for marking where the subways should go, if you'll notice, I believe it's in Seattle, the tracks go down 2 levels, just outside of the city. Then, when you lay your track, just lay the track right where the tunnel will be in the future, and nothing can be built on the tunnel opening. I've run my subways for over a year, and I just love to see them in action. They are fun!
Always,
Jim Powers

Switching Back to Editor
Mr. Spaceman-Spiff;
So, you've had problems going back to the Editor?:?
I go back all the time I'm playing and have never had a problem. See, i look at it this way. If it's for the good of all, then I look at the money cheat as....a Federal grant . I pay the money back. Many times I made the maximum amount of 4 billion $. So, If I have to bribe the authorities, I feel like its politics, and, since we all ain't perfect, why not? I feel that they are too strict anyway. I save the game at say Dec. 10, 2004, bribe the town authorities, 1, 2 3, or more until I have an excellent rating, then do what you want. If you get caught at say Dec 22, 2004, then just go back and reload the game at Dec 10, 2004. This way you control not those evil minded City Fathers!:twisted:

Out Of Africa
Dear TT-Forum Family;
I'm working on a scenario from The Repository named
'Africa'. All I'm doing is enhancing the cities. This is the
first time that I've tried to seriously increase the population
size, in the "Tropic"mode. It's a lot different, and the greatest size
I'm able to do right now is 65,000+. most of these cities are
30 to 40,000 pop. Does anyone know why there's a difference?
Please, let me know.
Always,
Jim Powers

New Scenario
Dear TT-Forum Family;
I've completed an enhanced scenario named Africa.
I downloaded Africa and took the 15 main cities and expanded
them. to a range from the smallest at 25,000+ population, to the
largest city witha population of 80,000+. The challenge was, how
big could I make a city in the "TROPIC" mode? It is different and
a lot harder to expand.
You all know how big I make a city in
the "Temperate", so I had to try the Tropic. There are plenty of
Industries and I 'tweaked' the mainland and added some islands.
I believe you'll enjoy this latest scenario named "Out of Africa"
Please let me know!
