Re: TT Meet 2017: Birmingham 10th Anniversary Meet
I expect I'd fly down on the Friday night, and get a hotel for a night, quite possibly two (if others were to be staying in Birmingham, could make a night of it?), then fly back on Sunday.
Re: TT Meet 2017: Birmingham 10th Anniversary Meet
I may also get a hotel! TT-F night out?

We'll just book the entire hotel then.

Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)

I'll hold a poll for dates fairly soon.

If I can schedule it, I'm in. I've wanted to do this for some time, but next year might actually be possible.

Most probably, depends when I have time. It'll likely be open for a few weeks at any rate.Pilot wrote:We looking at in the new year for this? As in the poll, not the meetorudge wrote:I'll hold a poll for dates fairly soon.

Only 6? Try Marseille in the deep south of France to Marne-la-Vallée (big mistake, will brave the Paris metro next time...) by TGV, to St Pancras by EuroStar, then walking up the road to Euston and jumping on Virgin to Milton Keynes.
Im sure that was around 10 hours of train in one day.
Re: TT Meet 2017: Birmingham 10th Anniversary Meet
I did similar recently myself. Train down from Manchester to London, Eurostar to Brussels, and then Thalys to Amsterdam, took about 9 and a half hours after delays.TomS wrote:Redirect Left wrote:6 hours on trains in one day D:

So, yeah, Leftie, stop complaining

Re: TT Meet 2017: Birmingham 10th Anniversary Meet
We should probably take this discussion out of here, but I took the train from Toronto to New York nearly 10 years ago now. It ended up being delayed by about 3 hours, and I think I was on it for a good 12 hours or so. Average speed was something like 30mph!
Re: TT Meet 2017: Birmingham 10th Anniversary Meet
If this isn't during my two weeks in Uganda, I should be able to actually make it to a meet, for the first time EVER. Finally.

Yeah, fair enough. On a more serious note, Im thinking I will try to make this one. I came to one in 2013 I think it was, Leicester Sqare in London.
But I got a motorbike last year, so I am considering being somewhat selfish and riding up, which means no room for passengers. Otherwise I'd drive, and would have had room for 3. Or maybe I'd take the train.
Undecided. Mostly will depend on the weather - Im a fair weather rider.

Re: TT Meet 2017: Birmingham 10th Anniversary Meet - VOTE FOR DATES
The first post has been updated with some more information and a poll. Please vote away! I've just picked three dates that basically work for me. The poll will be open for 2 weeks - at that time, whichever is most popular will be decided upon, and I will book my hotel and flights!
Any further thoughts on activities that we can do, etc, would be appreciated.

I'd certainly prefer one of the two July dates, so I will vote for them.
As activities go, well I'm surely not the right person to ask. If we do make a night of it, I'd definitely enjoy watching orudge bust some moves on the dance floor.

You may regret that suggestion when you see said dance moves.
