Periodic forum review
Just now I've finished reading unread posts and an idea came to my mind.
Since it's almost impossible to get track of the things that are going on here, I would like to suggest releasing periodic forum review that contains the most interesting stuff.
The thing is I've found many intriguing cases, nice ideas, even screenshots that don't get into the main stream.
Since it's hard for one person to get through the whole forum from time to time and get the required info, I think a good solution would be to add a "dig out" button somewhere that would ease the search.
Maybe even the idea of "digging up" posts and displaying the most digged up posts somewhere would be interesting.
What you think?

Who decides what is "required"?
It's a no from me I'm afraid.

Only dumb people quote themselves, and only the biggest idiots put such quotes in their forum signatures

Re: Periodic forum review
As a sort of newsletter? If anybody was willing to spend their time going through everything for you, I would of course allow them to do so. I won't be the one doing it though

My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)
Re: Periodic forum review
IIRC there is a mod of sorts (either web or forum based I haven't got the foggiest) used to track membership, posts and general matters, although knowing Owen, he won't install any mods unless necessary.

Re: Periodic forum review
Well yes, as sort of newsletter. I mean - it's only a suggestion so the form would be up to members to decide.
The point actually is - to let the most interesting things float above the ground (? - sorry for my english if that's not the way you say it).
The actual thing that came to my mind was maybe not to "hire" anybody to do this periodically (but this also is an option) but to let add a feature to the forum that would let the users mark most important/interesting/significant posts and topics and let the forum engine keep a track of this.
@Drury The active topics are usually temporary active, but I'm talking about something that could be related later on also some topics are active but they don't contribute much, usually - like developers speaking about code internals.
Also I see more use for this. Posts with many , let's call it "dig's" would probably represent value to newbies.
All this stuff would work perfectly if the forum supported tags. I think so.
I know this may resemble Reddit - but actualy it's where my inspiration came from
About Owen, well, maybe someday he will be in a better mood and will reconsider this

Re: Periodic forum review
We used to have a newsletter (check some of the older pages in the News forum). If anybody wants to write a new one, you'd be very welcome. I stopped because I didn't have the time to.
