"Colonisation" type scenario...

Post by Krist »

I would like to make a "colonisation" type scenario. In this scenario you start with an empty map. No towns, no industries. You have to build everything.

So you would have to start buy founding a town or two, building infrastructure, and then go on and build industries, link them to your network, and develop the land around your railway lines. A bit like railways developed large parts of the US in the 19th century.

However, I would need to lower funding costs for cities and industries significantly. Is it possible to lower town and industry funding in a scenario? How do I do this?

Thanks,

Install one of the BaseCosts grfs, tweak settings to your liking.

there must be at least one town on the map to start a game.

funding for towns and industries can be set via basecosts.

Thanks. That was just what I was looking for. I've now made a map of a large island, covered in woods, and one tiny little town. Logging is proceeding nicely... We'll see where it gets me.

This sounds really interesting, actually. I hope you're playing in the 1800s

You could set my GS(alpha version) to add X industries/towns every Y years to the map to supplement your own expansion a bit.

I also considered a GS which "rewards" well maintained routes with more towns/industries in a psudo-mission based system. So combined with a minimal start, over time the opportunities expand along with your network at the pace of your ability to maintain ratings/etc. Could be cool :)
