Re: The official-unofficial screenshot thread (non OT)
I too have been playing Banished. No screens, but my first town is also going quite swimmingly. I've given up for now, in the hope that early access will bring new features or an "endgame" to work toward.
Re: The official-unofficial screenshot thread (non OT)
Banished isn't early access.

Because it feels unfinished

Yes. The game is a neat little game but it doesn't feel like a €20 game or whatever cost it has in Euros. It feels like a sweet little minigame that can provide a few hours of fun. In a way, it's quite soothing.SquireJames wrote:Because it feels unfinished
With population booming (124 adults, 17 students and 48 children), my dear town can look forward to an even bigger growth in the future. This is how she looks now.

My Factorio factorio, a bit outdated, but the core remains the same because I'm a lazy person like that.

- The new NASA parts make launching the heavier stuff a right doddle. Although this is career mode and I've not unlocked the *really* big parts yet.

You know those times when you play TTD and you have to level half a city to make space for your railway tracks?
Building railway tracks in Factorio can be the same sometimes. Except with laser turrets and giant space bugs involved.

The campaigns are silly easy. I just played one where you had to construct a Nuclear Program to deter World War 3

I'll contribute a few pictures from a Tropico 5 game in Sandbox mode. I started in Colonial Times with 75 people and 50k in startup money. Here are a few nice-looking details.

- Old and new collide. Up front, old country houses built in the colonial era. Behind that, modern apartments and offices rise to the skies. The home owners still grow their own crop in the backyard.

Everyone knows the only people allowed a 6/6/6 in EU is the AI... Usually the French...

Well, yeah, that's the point of the "lucky nation" setting
Been playing Victoria 2 lately, but since it's not really about conquering as much as the other PI games I don't feel screens would do much. Nonetheless, I'll definitely recommend it. My personal favorite after CK2.
