Nice shot jor[D]1. What GRF do you use to alter the town name and population font in your game?

Font and size can be set in the config file, just make sure that the font is available on your system.
The colour of the popultion is most likely a patch unless trunk has changed and I missed it.

And now for something completely different.
Number 1 ... the 10 tile 4-way junction.

Both are part of the HardPatchPack, the font is very annoying.
The coloured labels are also in chill's patchpack

Good grief, is that a junction, or a bad attempt at TTD-RCT?? Just looking at it makes me wanna... wanna... *covers mouth and runs for bathroom*

That my friend is a junction that works pretty darn well if I may say so myself.
It has all splits before the merges and is not really designed to please the eye or improve passenger comfort for that matter.

I made it to compare with another juction that is also in the attached savegame.
Just release the last goup of trains to put some stress on both of them and see for yourself how fast it recovers from slow and bigger vehicles coming through from time to time.

And yeah I have played the hell out of RCT at some point in time. Does it show?
I recently bought brand new (second hand but scratch free) copies of 1 and 2 including 3 expansions(2 and 1) for the magnificent price of almost 11 euros. Quite possibly I still have some of my old savegames too, I'll have a look and might post some screenshots later on just for giggles (and to stay on topic too).

ps:
My first attempt at timetabling so I can properly compare trunk with ic111 his patch later on, don't look to closely though there are still some errors in it.

EDIT:
Since this is a screenshot thread and I have not yet found (read searched for) me old RCT savegames ... here is one made using the current version of FreeRCT.

Well I guess the new line is just along the border to Germany. The mine is Dutch ;-)
Nice shot!

Let's just say, the original plans to annex large parts of Germany to the Netherlands after WW2 were executed in TTD history books. (I think they originally wanted a strip from köln to Bremen.)

A random screenshot of my current FIRS Temperate Basic game, started in 1882. This is the northernmost part of the network, with the map edge just off-screen to the top right. Visible are 3 doubleheaded express trains operated by aging pairs of 4-2-2 Spinners. At the end of their lifetimes they'll probably be replaced by single 4-4-0 Edwardians, due to be introduced in a few game-years. The 4-4-2 Klondyke just became available, and they're hauling express trains in other regions, but I cannot take full advantage of its 90mph top speed because Clerestory Carriages have a top speed of 80mph, and carriages with higher speed limits aren't due to be introduced for more than a decade... :(

Also visible are many FISH ships, including log tugs that float their cargoes to the docks at the bottom right, where they join logs from another forest just off-screen, to be hauled off by logging trains powered by 0-6-0 Goods engines to the sawmill.
You can also see some lovely lighthouses, a couple HEQS trams, an iron more mine, and a metal workshop. Freighters load iron ore from the mine at the dock by the metal workshop, steam over to a steel mill just off-screen to the left, auto-refit to metal and steam back to the workshop, offload the metal, and auto-refit back to iron ore, thus earning profit on both legs of the journey. 8)

Cool. Does it work? As I kinda was the first one (AFAIK) to make a set with metro as extra rail option (rather than monorail/maglev which would make normal rail pointless, or narrow-gauge which has no ingame advantage at all), I wonder if it ended up like I intended; Good for urban transport, but bad for long distances. High capacity, fast loading/unloading, but low max speed. And only for passengers. Which makes it attractive for urban transport, but not for rural/regional/intercity transport.

I'm quite curious on what people think about the metro concept. I don't even know if any other sets copied the concept. All I know is the 2ccSet and the Dutch Trainset have them. :P
