Company Takeovers
Hey Guys.
Can you takeover other transport companies in Locomotion and if so how? - I think I recall it being a feature in TT.
Regards
Steve

Re: Company Takeovers
You can obtain up to 75% of a company but you can't completly buy it out.

Re: Company Takeovers
lies
May the force be with you.
For little boys, three things reign as supreme attention-keepers: tanks, heavy construction equipment, and trains, we all know why where here.
"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."

Re: Company Takeovers
I think you are speaking from a completely different game. With Locomotion you can't take over a IA-business.Pottanda wrote:You can obtain up to 75% of a company but you can't completly buy it out.

Re: Company Takeovers
I admit. I misread this text from wikipedia
Sabotage of the rival companies' vehicles, prevalent in Transport Tycoon, has been reduced but not entirely eliminated. Further, rival companies can never be bought over by the player's company.

Re: Company Takeovers
There is no corporate takeover in Locomotion.
If you disassemble the EXE, there is code for takeovers including embezzlement and going to jail for fraud.
It just goes to show that the game was released unfinished or had expansion packs planned.

Really. I might go run loco through my disassembler now just to take a peak *lol*
Edit: lol so there is - Definitely eeds to be included in a Locomotion clone if ever one is made.
I get the feeling Atari pushed Chris on the release of lomo hence why we got a sub par AI. - I get the feeling the AI was no where near as developed as Chris would have liked. (that includes for train and vehicle routing)
Re: Company Takeovers
In other words kids, theres are no company takeovers and if there are, someone committed a crime
