Great :)

Have you considered uploading it to OpenTTD online content?

Yeah, uploading it should be great!

But, i am a realy newb to the project so i must ask:

How can i upload the content?
It seems i need to define a unique identifier to the newGRF, where do i get it?
Is there any formal requirements to publish the content there?

Sorry about those newb questions...

Thx in advance.

Hi, here comes an update on the newGRF (version 1.1).

What has changed:

1)Re-organized the nml file to have parts with no more than 255 entries.
2)Especified some rules to compose another names based on brazilian portuguese so we have a bigger name variety (if the user wants to play on huge maps with lots of cities).

This is the very first newGRF i have edited. If you find some bug plz let me know.

****EDITED****

Here is a sample with some towns.

See http://bananas.openttd.org/en/manager/tos/

You can upload the content after signing up, at the "manager" tab.

Hi!

Here comes another update. Now, instead of 600 town names the package has almost 5300 names. This includes 95% of the brazilian towns listed on the last brazilian census.
To be a bit more realistic, bigger cities will have a bigger chance to appear.

I think that there won't be any other updates for now (only in case of some bug).

Well, i will update the link on my first post and also at bananas.

Hello friends!
Sorry for wake up this older thread.
This is my first post after years and years playing this lovely game.
Well I downloaded this NewGRF and activated it but it didn't work. Am I doing something wrong?
Is there a setting that I must do? Is it a obsolete version? Is there any way I can fix this?
Thanks

1. Go into NewGRF Settings and add the town name set
2. Go into Game Options and select the town name set (it should appear at the top ahead of all the others)
3. Start a new game.

Está gerando um número excessivo de cidades, deixando elas muito coladas mesmo colocando baixo nas configurações
