Re: Mornington Crescent
Is it permitted to descend down to London Bridge LUL or would that count as the same station?

Re: Mornington Crescent
By the patriotic ruleset of Oslo, commandment 8 line 5, i declare british stations inferior and thus move to Narvik, Norway
Alcohol is not the answer, it just makes you forget the question.
Re: Mornington Crescent
Ah, but by Clause 3 of the Gardermoen second revision, your move is invalid as you would have to move to Heathrow Airport as a preceding move.

Re: Mornington Crescent
However, it is allowed to move from a (semi-)tourist location to any other foreign location by ruleset #37 from the '83 game (aka "The Archbishop's game").

Re: Mornington Crescent
Also, the UN's officialised rulesets at part 5 bulletpoint A states that no move made by a northener can be contested by somone significantly more to the south, wich automatically makes my move valid no matter what other rules might contest it.

Re: Mornington Crescent
Using the 1960 Hague Covenant (v3.519.017; the latest revision) I buy a modern InterRail pass and travel from Narvik, Norway (the last named station) to Riksgransen, Sweden just across the northern border. Once there I chat up the first stunning blond I see per subsection 45.2 rule 21a of the aforementioned Covenant.

Under the rules of the hair colour discrimination act, I take that gorgeous sexy blond to White City, Central Line.

DIG A DIG.
I'll take a move over to Pimlico, using the Harvey-Andrews Rule invoked in the epic game at the Clapham Convention of Mornington Crescent Players in 1933.

With the revival of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue this week with Stephen Fry as the host, I therefore invoke the Julian Clary sexuality clause, I therefore move to Pickawilly Circus.

Re: Mornington Crescent
Ah but this clause comes into direct contradiction of the Curtain-Poleaxe Agreement of 1974, and so I will move to Gloucester Road, and place you in nid.JamieLei wrote:With the revival of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue this week with Stephen Fry as the host, I therefore invoke the Julian Clary sexuality clause, I therefore move to Pickawilly Circus.

Re: Mornington Crescent
Reading Chapter 3 of "Talking a Complete Load of Nonsense" by Dave Worley (paperback only), I stumbled upon my next move, heading to Wallsend on the Tyne and Wear Metro, of course being careful to ascertain that Newcastle United are at home that day.
Re: Mornington Crescent
Seeing how these rules have become invalid because of the 2009 Hague Covenant, every post added after Nite Owl's have become untrue. We're therefore still at Narvik, Norway.Nite Owl wrote:1960 Hague Covenant (v3.519.017; the latest revision) [...]

Re: Mornington Crescent
Earlier today, I made a few notes from the London Piccadilly Guide 1.02 (released 1987, ISBN 978-1844289462), including what to do when at Turnham Green. I just keep on going two stops, obviously, to Barons Court.

Re: Mornington Crescent
Having seen I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue live in the Symphony Hall this evening, I therefore invoke the egoism clause and move directly to Mornington Crescent and win this round, unless someone can prove otherwise.

Re: Mornington Crescent
I think you won that one.
May I start the next round...
Taking the start point from the unpublished Railtrack manual 2.9, which thanks to Google has now been digitised since it was never published due to the whole Railtrack / Network Rail thing.
I pick.... Didcot Parkway.

Re: Mornington Crescent
Didcot Parkway!? Are you insane!? That has never been a valid starting point whatsoever. Since David Letterman had sex with women that work for his show, we should start somewhere in America. Grand Central Terminal, New York, for example

Dude.Since David Letterman had sex with women that work for his show
You cant just write something on a post-it note and call it a rule book.
Didcot Parkway remains as the starting point.
If you'd like to go to New York you better make a move to Heathrow Terminal 5 so I'll make that to get the game going.
Re: Mornington Crescent
Why'd I want to go to New York? The only reason I did so was because of the clause in the aforementioned Hauge Covenant, original edition (1960).
However, since we're at Heathrow Terminal 5, I'll catch a flight, as stated in the "Hitchhikers Guide to Heathrow, 1st edition, 3rd printing" (ISBN 978-9-17-037373-2), to Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport in Athens, Greece.

Re: Mornington Crescent
Athens?! What a ridiculous move. You do realise that that earns you no more than 3 Matthew points.
Using the mathewsbro second injunction, I think we can reset all the way back to Finsbury Park, which if spelt backwards is Krapy Rub Snif.
