Here's a map of Cuba. I used spanish names for all the places and cities, excluding the Guantanamo Bay (US Base). I created the landscape using a heightmap from SRTM data and put all the cities in their correct places using wikipedia. From Wikipedia I also look for any information about the economy of every province. With that information I placed the industries in their correct places, but afterward I added some using my imagination to balance the map a little.
The map is 1024x512 in size and the climate is Sub-Tropic. I deleted all the deserts and added trees and rainforests nearly everywhere, which is pretty much the reality out there. I used OpenTTD 0.6.0 to do this scenario.
This is just the second version, but everything seems to be pretty much in place. Please, give some comments if you try this one out.
I added all the major rivers to their places using landscape tools. The map seems more natural now and you can see the reason for most of the farms (they are built where rivers are). I used this to get the rivers right: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... ubaOMC.png
I also changed the date to 1.1.1959, the year of cuban revolution, which also gives you two trains (the previous, unchanged one didn't give any).
