[OTTD] Emperor Jake's Worlds - NetTrans - Tiger Island

Post by Emperor Jake »

Hi everyone,

I know I've been away from the forums lately, I haven't had time or motivation to create or update my NewGRFs but I feel like I've been neglecting the community. For that, I apologise. I hereby present you with this giant screenshot of the map I have been working on for the past year and a half.
The year is 4101. Four companies: NetTrans (blue), Fred's Transport (green), Red's Transport (red) and HFA Airlines (teal) all connect a densely packed 1024x256 map. Between them there are over 7000 road vehicles, 750 trains, nearly 8000 ships and 200 aircraft.

The giant screenshot can be viewed here:
http://www.gigapan.com/gigapans/155760

Preview: Here's Daimyo Wafer station, the oldest station on the NetTrans network. (Updated screen, also smaller so as not to break the layout)
Image

Here's the GRF list: (Bear in mind I started this game in late 2012 so many are outdated)

Thanks everyone :D

Here's a bunch of detail shots from the map.

A maglev train passes under a busy road. The tracks are from SMITS (Shanghai Maglev Inspired Track Set)
Image

The beautiful building of Primal pocky station, a major high-speed hub.
Image

A fishing boat leaves a fishing harbour. You could even call it an ark. Full of carp, no doubt.
Image

A brewery next to a busy shipping lane.
Image

Energy Silo Aluminium Plant, the most productive industry on the map. Served by 67 trains and numerous trucks and ships, it produces nearly 40.000 tonnes of metal a month.
Image

HFA SkyLink offers regional and long distance air routes, plus a cross-map Concorde service.
Image

A train passes under a busy motorway.
Image

Train no. 666, known as the "Red Devil", passes through a suburban station. Can you spot it on the giant screenshot?

The word population is 3,942,148. It's tantalisingly close to 4 million. Unfortunately, this map has gotten so crowded that my computer can barely run it anymore.

Here is the largest city on the map:

A scrap train trundles through the fields next to a canal. Opposite a bauxite train pulls into the loading station. Both are bound for Energy Silo Aluminium Plant, the busiest industry on the map.
Image

A supplies and machinery distribution station. A stock and an oil train pass by, while a busy road crosses over.
Image

A busy sawmill port, supplied by heavy logging trucks and ships.
Image\

A Cliff Edge Metro passes over the busy river, while a regional jet soars overhead.
