[OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
A new game again now, with Daylength set to 8.
I'm back using Pikkabird's amazing UKRS and UKRSI. Its a 256x1024 map, with UK renewal buildings and Stolen Trees to name but a few GRFs.
You join Arrow Transport 12 years in and things are going well. A complex network has developed with two main lines (imaginatively known as the West and East Coast Main Lines), crisscrossed by many smaller routes. Arrow Transport started out transporting heavy goods, but in recent years a real shift has occurred as suburban passenger routes have proved highly profitable.
Picture 1: The Map. Picture 2: Gradinghattan - One of the largest stations on the West Coast Main Line and a hub for a variety of suburban routes serving this city as well as the nearby Panwell. These two cities make up one of the most densely populated areas of the map. Picture 3: South Gradinghattan - A local service heads for Marleigh Park just to the east, after travelling down the Panwell Hill Line. An express heads south along the West Coast Mainline, having just departed Gradinghattan. In the right of the picture another local service for Panwell can just be seen, though this one is bound for Panwell via Gradinghattan.

Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
A few more...
Picture 1: Panwell Station - Here a local service from Gradinghattan enters the east side of the station as another departs. In the bottom of the picture, a local service runs along the Panwell Hill Line, bound for Marleigh Park on the eastern outskirts of Gradinghattan. Picture 2: Moving away from the cities now, a light wood train waits to join the West Coast Main Line, as a stopping service heads north on the slow line and an express powers down the fast. Picture 3: To the east, a heavy coal merry-go-round train passes along the freight line bound for Hatfingley Power Station as another light wood train passes over the bridge, just outside Nundington.

Some nice shots you've got there. Good job.
Edit: Oh and those fences are nice. Which newGRF is that?

Very nice screenshots. And Benny asked the exact question that I was pondering too
Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
They are MPH's Fences - http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=33856
I use them all the time now. The standard TT ones look garish in comparison!

Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
I agree, and those ones look very much like the ones here in Norway. Might do a norwegian game soon.
Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
Nice screenshots! Also those trees on the roads, are they unreleased new grfs?
Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
If you mean the roundish trees on the sidewalks that define the central part of the town then they are also part of the previously mentioned MPH Fences grf. With a bit of creative grf placement within the grf list it is possible to use the trees and not the fence. MPH's grf has no parameters for turning the fence or the trees on or off. The only other fence controlling grf that I use is the Canadian Station grf. If the Canadian Station grf is lower on the grf list than MPH Fences grf then the Canadian Station grf's fence controlling parameter will override the fence in MPH Fences grf. If you want to use MPH's fence along with the Canadian Station Set then MPH Fences grf must be lower on the grf list than the Canadian Station grf.

Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
Like the first one although in that game you appear to have got the dos instead of win (or vice versa) of the american stations.grf since it shouldn't be that colour. Keep up the shots, I've always liked your playing style.
Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
Actually, that station changes to that color sometimes. Don't know if it's intended or not, but it happens here too.

I think the station changes colour depending on how well it is served. When the station is busy and the rating is high I thought that the station looked newer and more well kept. When the rating was low, it looks dilapidated.Bennythen00b wrote:Actually, that station changes to that color sometimes. Don't know if it's intended or not, but it happens here too.
Or maybe its random, and that's just me reading too much into it?

Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
I'd have gone for a palette problem myself. And also, what's up with the bridges in that same shot ? The 3 girder ones (I think) have different railings on each side ?

Re: [OTTD] Andysine's Screenshots
Oh yeah! I've never noticed that before. Some of the narrow gauge ones were noticeably screwed up as well, but I just assumed that was because the bridge grf didn't support NG rails...jake.grimshaw wrote:I'd have gone for a palette problem myself. EDIT - Anyway, here's a few shots from my current game - I've also included a larger version of the second one, so you can get a better idea of the layout etc...

Some very pretty screenshots - I like the way you spread your signals out, it's not necessarily the most efficient way to do it, but it looks nice

A few more from my latest game - I couldn't bear to scale them down to 800x600, it just didn't seem to do them justice...
