Expert Settings - Vehicles

I have not played Open TTD before - having just downloaded and installed v 1.9.3.
In Advanced and Expert settings for vehicles there are only two submenu selections - Physics and Routing.
According to the on line manual there should be many more selections.
Is there something I'm missing from the installation?
