I don't know exactly how a.i. works in this game, but in my case I reach the leves ( engineer, traffic manager, etc.) when I deliver a good amount and when I have more lines than my competitors...
Good luck...

60% is very easy to do. Just build lots of coal lines, just like in TTD :P

60% is far lot better than me: 20% !!!

I did try almost everything and could not do better. As there is no industry like coal or chemistry, nether oil, it is not easy to see what to do.

This scenario looks as the land of trucks transportation: but, where to go, without industry?

Actually there is coal in this map, and it's the key to winning the map.

Btw, use trains, not trucks. You need to deliver tonnes of coal to get to 60%.

You're right: I was thinking about the one with 4 islands.

The ring island is done by coal, me too. Coal mines close down, but other ones quickly open after few months. I also use with success grain farms to the brewery plant, first by boat then after years, by trains.

The scenario with 4 islands remains an important goal to me. The best I ever did on this one is 20%. Up to now, I can not figure any good strategy in that one.

I think you mean Dodecan Diaries, chichille8.

That's a hard one. And a long time since I played that map.
In the image linked above, I started off by shipping grain from Kimberley to Waterston. The farms closed down early in the game, and didn't bring much cash, so I needed a couple of tries on the map to know how many ships to buy so as not to overspend.
After that I'm not sure what I did, but cash came slowly. Later in the game it became possible to transport grapes to a winery at Foxwell Creek. That's where I made enough value to win the game. Until then it was all about playing it tight and saving every penny possible.

I finished this map in more than 24 yrs. By raising the seafloor, Severous was able to finish this map in only a little more than 3 years. I disagree to that style of playing, but that's still an incredible good time.

Good luck.

Like i said the best i've done in20 is 29% that's with 11 trains, a load of planes, and about 15 ships. I still can't see 60% in 20 years.

It's rather easy to do 100% in 45 years, perhaps not with the settings of this map though

Coal is the key, but damn it, I couldn't get 3000 in any Coal Mine. And I did many saves. At last I had to do the 2 final years again because one of the two power stations closed and the airport in the city I was feeding with food stopped accepting food. Wicked... I did some tricks to expand the airport station and some more to prevent opponents in the beginning from building a rail line to transport grain and steal my profits. And I did some stupidities, like crashing 2 trains... You can see my progress from attached saved games.

Good luck to this game that is inspired from the island of Santorini. And borrows names from various Greek islands. Names are terribly mamed though. Actually towns have real names with altered 1 or 2 letters. One is spelled wrong, another is the altered name of my aunt's husband and in "Biri" (Correct spelling is "Viri", and is not a village in reality but an area near my village) I am proud to be the owner of a small piece of land. Not that it is of any value though...

I got up to 52% but I've made a few mistakes!

1) Start with ships from the waterside Coal Mines near Maximianou to the Power Station near Gavala ... 8 ships minimum. Be careful as often or not Maximianou Coal Mine could run out in as little as 10 years.

2) The I started on a train line (through the ground) from the Gavala Power Station to the coal mine on the other side of the mountain at Maximianou

3) Build a secondary line from Evanelidor Mines to the Gavala Power Station (through the ground) Build as many lines and trains as you feel necessary however between the two coal mines, i recommend 6 trains at least.

4) I got lucky with a secondary coal mine near Maximianou. If its there build it.

5) Got an Airport built in Karoussioti and Marki. It brings a nice income in.

BTW I cleared all my debt by 1953

6) Then I built a long line from Karoussioti Mines (via the Airport) to Gavala Power Station.

Now this is where I think I went wrong. Invested in a few more Airports, then I built a long line to Mavroudi Power Station.

What I should have done (i think) is to build my own Industries, for Food Processing Plants where ever you feel necessary. one for 'Biri Grain Farm' midway between the farm and 'Pilihos Livestock Farm' Maybe a Food Processing Plant in Biri.

Another Possibility is a Food Processing Plant for 'Pantzikas Grain Farm' and 'Pantzikas Livestock Farm'

7) The rest is academic, keep an eye on your vehicles, keep them up to date and keep them over 50% if you can.

52% but I'm going to try again tomorrow. But its 2:01am here and i'm off to bed.
