I usually searched for specific sounds with some keywords and never really started to search for the sounds for toyland, so if there's stuff I have not searched for it.Zephyris wrote:How thoroughly have you scoured the freesound project?

Added to the repository, again thanks for the samples.Zephyris wrote:Plastic wells?
This sample seems to have an electric/mains/power line hum which makes it, at least for me, more annoying to listen to that the current sample. Although this sample sounds a bit more like the sifting sugar instead of the flour that is being sifted in the current sample. I've got no clue how one can remove the hum from your sample because then it would be really better.Zephyris wrote:Sugar mine sfx
Re: Sound replacement project - OpenSFX
Listening through some headphones I hear it too... I'll have a look for another alternative!... electric/mains/power line hum ...
*edit* ... and toy factory sounds ...

And the final toy factory sound.

And a modified version of my sugar mine. I harshly cropped around the shake sounds to cut out the metallic bg noise...

Re: Sound replacement project - OpenSFX
Yay... now only vehicle sounds, unless we use the 'normal' climate sounds; guess we can use that as final fallback.Zephyris wrote:And the final toy factory sound.
The sugar mine/sieve sounds much better that way, i.e. I've added it to the repository.

Re: Sound replacement project - OpenSFX
I'm trying to get my hands on the OpenSFX versions of the road vehicle start noises (ie. samples 28, 29, 30 , 31) to add some comedy noises to for toyland but I am struggling. Every time I try to download them from the repo (http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/opensfx/repository) I get a file which my programs think is corrupted (VLC and Audacity)... Could you post them here? Or do you have any idea what is going wrong?
*edit* some more info:
Whn I try and download the .wav files I get an html file with a .wav extension (Firefox 3.5.5, Windows 7). Where am I supposed to download the file from?

When at e.g. http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/ope ... sfx_00.wav you have to select download. I think you try to 'download' a level too early.

Probably from that very html file which you try to download. Download links have the form of http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/ope ... format=raw

A few bits and bobs.
The second breakdown sound (planes and ships?) with more of a fade out...

Re: Sound replacement project - OpenSFX
So you mean that the sample of the non-toyland OpenSFX sounds is used too?
