Swedish Road Vehicles

Post by Irwe »

I thought it was about time this planned set got its own thread so here it is!

The Swedish Road Vehicle set is a planned set for OpenTTD and possible TTDpatch in wich to include road vehicles found in Sweden. Planned vehicles are:

*A nice variety of busses in both company colours or real life livery, the choice is yours!
*Trucks found in Sweden with support for all orignal cargo and possible new cargo later on.
*Swedish trams found throughout the country (mostly from Gothenburg).

Myself will stand for drawing the sprites with hopfully help from others. When time comes I'll need someone to code everything for me since I have no knowledge about coding.

If you have any ideas or suggestions about this planned set please share them in this thread!

The first buss is drawn with some help from colossal404 in all directions and in both CC and real life livery.

When you say 'the choice is yours' in regards to liveries or CC, is that through a parameter, or a refit, or what?

Whatever the best way is. I would go with refit if possible. That way you could choose between them ingame rather then do it before starting the game.

Possibly make it refit, but you can choose if the default is cc or real by parameter, that way it would be easy to change your mind, but convenient, you should just be able to to change the parameter in game (OTTD) easily enough or for one off's refits.

Ofcourse it shouldn't, I guess I drew it a little bit to fast :P It's fixed now thanks!

Unfortunately not. Me and Chrill did a little list of busses that could be in the set but it is far from complete. I'll try to find sutible busses, trucks and trams while the set moves forward. Suggestions ofcourse are always welcome.

That sounds about right.

Looks really nice, though I reckon you should recolour the white line on the CC version to the 2CC colours...

I would really like to have them (or a subset of them) available for TTDPatch! I still like TTDP best, although OTTD has caught up in most aspects, and surpassed in many.

Making it support both OpenTTD and TTDpatch is ofcourse a priority, but at this point I don't know how compatible this set will be. We just have to wait and see when the coding part takes place.

Articulated version anyone? The "combine" parts was made from Zephyris eGRVTS set.

Hm, it looks a bit odd, and it still has got one door and some other tings whats not needed... Could you send the new solo bus's sprite? I can make a mockup on it if you want.

Again, looks good... Are the sprites the same size as the eGRVTS ones? Feel free to grab the offsets for coding; it took a lot of fiddling to get them right!

Oh I see now. I left the first door on the other side, it will be removed!

I attache it.

Not really, or I didn't use the eGRVTS as templates at least. I just cut them in half and tried to make them look like they do in real life with the front part a little bit longer then the back part. As for the coding thanks but I don't have any coding skills so that's up to the coder of this set whoever that will be. They probably will be tweaked a little bit before they are done.

I started a little bit on some Volvo trucks, Volvo FH12. It's based on George's Volvo truck but it's smaller to fit more into original TTD scale.

Looking good, it actually resembles the original vehicle :P Is it not a bit too big for TTD size, though?
