Stop Tree Generation
Is it possible to introduce a switch to stop TTDP generating new trees?
So that you can control where to put trees? After 75 years of TTDP the entire map looks like a forest

Not a bad idea. I like it.Captain Kirk wrote:Is it possible to introduce a switch to stop TTDP generating new trees?

Failing that we could always use Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi method.Captain Kirk wrote:After 75 years of TTDP the entire map looks like a forest

Re: Stop Tree Generation
3 months later.
Figured I'd bump this, instead of creating a new thread.
I still think this would be a good idea.

Re: Stop Tree Generation
Tree growth is top of my to-patch list.

I didn't know you patched anything
The occasional look back at your past can teach you a great many things...
Re: Stop Tree Generation
I know that Pikka is the man behind the invisible trees when transparent buildings is on.
Re: Stop Tree Generation
Maybe it is an idea to rebuild the forest in a woodmill in the normal and the cold climate. In the tropical climate there are already sawmills. with sawmills you get rid of those trees and you have timber for industry and money in pocket as well. But there also new industry grf's which will be conflicting with that. That's a major disadvantage. On the other hand I have seen many beautiful sawmills.
Re: Stop Tree Generation
I know this is off topic, but slightly relevant: in towns, I end up with a proliferation of statues and fountains: how about a limit on these as well?
To err is human, to arr is pirate.
Re: Stop Tree Generation
That can already be done with a grf. For the temperate climate, you can try "Suburban Renewal (UKRH)" from here, which amongst other things controls the ratio of fountains and parks to other buildings.suttonc wrote:I know this is off topic, but slightly relevant: in towns, I end up with a proliferation of statues and fountains: how about a limit on these as well?
