nml file extension

Post by planetmaker »

There starts to come into life a new newgrf description language, nml. It'd be nice, if it becomes possible to attach files with the extension nml also to this forum

Are there any links to this on the forum? I've not seen anything about such a tool. If there is demand, I can add the extension, but so far, a search for both "nml" and "NFO Meta Language" doesn't bring much up.

That is because the development is so far happening on irc. A topic about it will probably created later this week either by me or by Hirundo. For now the documentation (pretty non-existent) and code and be found at the link ammler gave.

Well, I had the desire when I tried to post the OpenGFX+ add-on newgrf's source code :-)

I'd like to ask for one additional file extension: lng
That's the default extension for language files for NML newgrf projects. It would make it easy to ask for translations :-)

Cheers,

Sorry for digging this up, but is it possible to also allow .pnml? When working on the DevZone these contain parts of the NML-code, instead of one big .nml-file that contains the complete code. I wanted to send a .pnml-file yesterday, but was not allowed to do so since .pnml is not in the list of extensions that are allowed.

That shouldn't be too difficult, I think Owen can arrange it in a few seconds when he finds time.

Can I also request .nis files? The Peripheral Interface file is an nis - we often abbreviate it and pack it into the .grf...

Dave Worley uses his pe.nis all the time now and has revolutionised how he plays the game...
