While IRC nicks are case insensitive in that you can't have both "Metalcore" and "MeTaLcOrE", if you're currently "Metalcore" and you type /nick METALCORE, your nick DOES change.

Although I'd still think it'd be better to not change the nick, but just set an away message on the server (/away bla without stupid scripts).

When you send a CTCP VERSION request, it says it's a bouncer. That's how you show it's a bouncer. You could set an away message (which, BTW are done with the /away command, not the /ame command), and have your client automatically do "/away" when you join to remove it.

I think he's "fuming" meaning furious because he can't "irc" meaning chat and he doesn't want to do anything else but chat
Also he wonders if he's banned

He is banned, it's permanent until orudge, patchman or any other op decides he deserves another chance.
