Great Train Robbery (1963) This happened two years before I was born! A Royal Mail Train was robbed of £2,631,684!

The bridge where they did it is near me, on one of my regular cycling routes. There is no blue plaque.

I happened (through chance, rather than any plan) to be travelling over the bridge where it occurred on the 50th anniversary of the robbery.

I remember the TM on my Pendolino making a brief announcement about it at the time.
