The answer does appear to be No, but I could have overlooked the relevant control. Can
AIs tell what colour(s) they've been assigned? I'd love to create an AI that could call itself
the Blue Bus Company or similar and actually use a livery to match.

I don't know a way to do this automatically, but there is a way to do it manually, by using the cheat menu and changing to the AI companies and changing the colour (and sometimes the name) yourself.
