I have recently gotten a new computer and have rediscovered an old favorite. After downloading and attempting to play, an error box appears that says "Unable to initialize graphics system" with the only available option of being "OK". I have also tryed changing the compatability mode to Windows Xp, after that failed I tryed every single option that troubleshooting provided, I have also changed the graphics, color type, bits and what not in the properties of Locomotion to run at the bair minimun and still nothing. My system specs are the following (if these have anyhing to do with Locomotion not running): Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 630 Processir 2.80 GHz, RAM: 6 GB, 64-bit, Windows 7 Home Premium. Please help me if you know what to do.

It's a good thing then that OpenTTD isn't Locomotion, is it?

Loco works fine for me on windows 7. Are you running it with the disk in or in download form?

How would I run this game without the disk if I had to download it from it?

Somewhere some nice person has made a little mod that lets loco run without its disk.

By any chance could you hint as to where I might find this person? I know the rules about linking on this site, so could you send it to me via message?

Found a deal that allows me to play without disk. still does'nt work... I'll see if I can whip up an image of what I am getting...

After a bit mmore searching through the web, I have come to the conclusion that it has something to do with my graphics card (AMD Athlon II x4 630), although most people have reported the error with the ATI Mobilitiy series. Some people are downloading some sort of mod for their ATI that allows it to function proplerly, I'm sort of weary as to download this or nnot because I have an AMD card, which ATI and AMD are supposedly the same right? What I stated in the first post still stands... Please help!

Ill guess your problem is 1 of 2 things, the ati card...

based on your other posts. it sounded like you installed locomotion into your virtual XP side of Windows 7 and you are still trying to play the virtual XP version.

if you install stuff in the virtual XP, it will show up in your start bar as if it is locally installed in 7. that is a feature...

I like computers, I plan on minoring in computer engineering when I get to college, but what you just said sounded like it was a differant language...

Have you uninstalled lomo and reinstalled it?

Yes I did. Due to the fact that this is a fairly new computer, I did not have to delete much.

It's a desktop. The Dell Inspirion series.

Anyone else have any ideas or am I just going to have to give up in shame?

Xfire (or is it xFire?) has a quite decent feature for downloading these facts automatically. It's called "Upload my Rig" or something.
