TT theme for the forums

Post by DominionSpy »

Since hearing that Bart was taking a long time in making his theme for these fora, I decided to do a theme myself.

Here a few screenshots.
Note: These are NOT mock-ups (ie it is a finished 'product').

If enough people like it, I hope Owen would be willing to install it?

[Edit: Updated with eis_os's suggestions]
[Edit2: Updated problem with ICG logo on poll screen (Prof. Frink)]
[Edit3: Udated poll/post screen with messenger icons (CombatGold1)]
[Edit4 (04/11): Updated poll/post screen and veiwforum screen with misc modifications]

Ooh, very fancy. I'm just curious as to how useable this would be on a daily basis... I would say try installing it and see how well it works. Of course, you would have to give the option of turning it on or off on an individual basis such that those people that are fanatically devoted to the current style could continue to use it...

great job...like it...

small suggestion: make the background a little bit lighter, it's very 'greenish' (and something I hate to see in TT themed sites :P )

I like it - only thing is the ICQ logo lookas a bit out of place because it is taller than the others - You should either shorten this icon or add logos to the others.

Do popular topics look any different to non-popular topics?

You can't get rid of the icon on the ICQ button - it's a separate image. Don't know why, these phpBB people should be consistent :P

Another point i've just noticed - try the 'newspaper' font for the TT-Forums.net logo - maybe even put it on a white background?

What's the closest font to that?
You know, one we'll all have.

IMHO I strongly disagree - I've just tried it with a lighter shade and it looks worse.

Changed it now - I'll update the pictures soon.

It's because phpbb finds out from the ICQ server whether someone is online or not - notice some of them are green and some are red.

nice effort on the theme guys, needs a little work on some of the images though. if its ok with you i'd like to post some ideas.

rather than a ! sign for sticky, use a splat or an up arrow.
put each instant messenger on its button (aim, yim, msn, etc)
better logo at the top left

other than that excellent work :)
Thanks,
Adam Reece.

I'll think about it.

I couldn't get back to sleep so I've done this and updated the third screen.
I've also done pm, profile and email but not put them on the screen (mainly because it would leave WWW looking a little conspicous (sp?) - the icon won't fit on that length and I can't be bothered to go through an widen them all).

Thanks,
Adam Reece.
