I made several different versions of the station tiles. I still think that Zephyris' original [A] is the best. That white line has that 'keep clear of the platform edge' warning in it, which I think is very good. Option has this white line slightly darkened, but still clearly visible. Option [C] has it completely removed. [D] is a combination of [A] and [C]. [E] to [G] are some versions I came across along the way to , [C] and [D].
athanasios wrote:Also the right roof might have a bit more white on right-back too. If there wasn't the mine behind I wouldn't notice.

I don't quite understand what you mean by that. I attached the sprites, that might communicate a bit better.

Roujin wrote:may i suggest to put the station sign in the middle and one bank to each side of it? That way there will still be two banks - one sign - two banks - one sign and so on, but it will be more symmetrical.
That's a very good suggestion. I like it. Currently, it's a bit of a mess when having two platforms joined together. This probably solves that real nicely.

Re: FooBar
I like my version :), so A gets my vote.

Re: Soeb
I like A, because it looks different to the originals.

And some new town buildings...
Includes:
Sub-tropical shanty buildings
Sub-tropical houses

Zephyris, the first time I notice something to say about your work..:D
I think the roof highlights...aren't so good. They look good but as Athanasios stated most of players think sun is in SE. Then the roof shouldn't have any highlights east.

Imho 7of9's Maglev looks very good.

I've started making a new OTTD font (I saw that it's not done on the wiki).

Here are two styles of capital letters: one lighter, one heavier, I'll add small letters and symbols later. Letters above are original TTD font.

What do you think about it?

Wookie even if i haven't test your font in game, the simple fact of you be working on it, is pretty cool...

Hope to see a test version soon :)

Unfortunately, I don't know how to code the font, so I can only provide the drawing .
If somebody knows how to do it, I would be much obliged :).

hmmm, I think it matches the ground shading - sun to the ESE... Plus its the same shading I have used on the newindustries so far...

*edit* and nice work on the font!

I'll try make a wooden version now

To be accurate... we take bottom of a screen as S?

If the sun were on the SE, the NE and SW slopes would have the same colour... although we don't see the sun, we can guess it's on the oposite side of the darkest slopes. And the slopes are darkest on west, so the sun is on east, am I right? ;)

IMHO the rooftop highlits are a bit too bright, because if the roof tiles are matte (as they usually are ;) they should not reflect the light.

And BTW... don't you think that bright slopes in sub-tropical climate have too bright grass in some places?

Edit: @Soeb: nice fence. Are poles in company colours?

Yes. After that wooden (in progress) I'll make in 2CC, if it's possible.

Funnily enough, I had actually been trying this out myself (original on the left, mine on the right).

The company colour is quite subtle, but I think it blends in better with the other new graphics.

I started some work on the bridges, but my progress has stalled. Would anyone be interested in helping me finish?
Current status:
Done:
On/off ramps
Road/rail/maglev/monorail roadways
Steel girder bridges
Cantilever bridge

To do:
Tubular
Wooden
Suspension

The sprites for these bridges only needs to be the bridge structure itself, I have the roadways made and ready and would be glad to chop/change artwork to make the final sprites...

Re: Wookie
The tiled roofs may well be a bit bright, but I think the corrugated iron ones need quite dominant shading.
The sub-tropical terrain is the one I am least happy with. There is a chance it will change, but a complete graphics set is desirable first...

I think all this work is amazing! Good job on the graphics to all artists! :D

However if I may make one little suggestion, would it be possible to modernize the railway stationbuilding when time advances?
Why you might ask, well I think it's strange that if I build a monorail/maglev station in 2035, it looks very modern while if I build a railway station that same year it still looks like a 100 year old building. They don't even make them like that today. :P

So would it be possible to adapt the stationbuilding architecture to the date of construction? I know I could have asked this in the general development of OTTD since this is even without the replacement project in the game. But since there are new graphics here I tought that I might post it here instead. :)

this is about replacing the graphics so that no copyrights are violated when they are distributed.

changes to how things work is a topic for after it's all been finished. I think they have about 4000 sprites to go, so let them do their thing first :)

wow, that's nifty. Only point of critique i could mention is that it will confuse people about how many wagons they have. If you have n wagons, with your graphic it looks like you have 2n+1 wagons.

(in your example, you really have 3 wagons, but it looks like 7 small wagons)

Well i guess that's the effect you wanted to archieve, so congrats on that :P

For me, the diagonal sprite of this Maglev is quite odd... and it looks different than the horizontal one...

And here's completed font. It lacks some symbols like the Yen (crossed Y). I have added the tram symbol-it will surely be necessary in future ;). I would like to do the language-specific letters also (like the Polish ą,ę,ć,ó,ł,ż) for every language (maybe except Chinese and Japanese ;) ), but first I have to find coder or somebody must tell me how to code the font.

I would also like how do know how you like it :)-blue one is old OTTD font, green is mine and yellow is an alternative font project (maybe I will finish it also).
