Request concerning the nightly builds
Well, time for me quit beeing a lurker.
I have a little request concerning the nightly builds: I am aware of that those are compiled without version-information and therefore prompt if i am sure about that. Problem is, i am running TTD in Wine, which does not support console input, which in turn makes it effectively impossible for me to run nightly builds.
It would be nice to have a nightly build that still prints that warning message, but does not prompt for confirmation.
gk
p.s.: Yes i know that running a nightly via wine is more likely to cause problems.

Add " -y " to a shell script running TTDPatch, heres my shell script for running TTDPatch, for example:
That'll fix yer billy-cart.
Edit/addition: Don't start appolagizing for using Wine, TTDPatch should work 100% in it, afterall, Patchman/Josef Drexler does his TTDPatch development under Linux himself, running TTDPatch in Wine. So do I aswell, not that I'm a patch developer. Quite a lot of other TTDPatch developers and NewGRF coders work from Linux aswell (Me included), so Linux support is pretty high up on the list of priorities.
Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash
cd /home/richard/Games/TTWin95/
wine ttdpatchw.exe -y

Did you ask about it?

> with 2.5 beta 8 it wants to use this base.grf thingy whitch uses lots of things i dont want is there a way to get round this?
No. Read this for the reasons why the patch devs made it that way.

If you don't enable the switch that needs it, the graphics aren't processed and so no harm is done...

Re: Request concerning the nightly builds
I know, this topic is really old, but Google spotted it.
I've runing a Xubuntu 7.10 with wine 0.9.57 on a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ (that's the reason for Xubuntu...) and try to get TTDPatch V2.6 alpha 0 r1836 (Windows) to work.
The attachment show you the wine debugger output which is hopefully a help. By the way beta 2.5 works perfectly.
Thanks for your answers.

Re: Request concerning the nightly builds
TTDPatch should have created a crashlog (CRASH###.TXT). Please post that instead.
Also, "allwaysyes" is not the correct spelling of that switch name; you might want to fix your ttdpatch.cfg.

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Yeah, it should... -.-
I've tried to use OllyDbg, but I haven't all the .dll and .drv files.
