Heh, nice George. You've been sitting on that treasure for how long now :P.

My best guess for finding out about MB is asking Patchman. But I'm not sure how "alive" he is lately.

:O What did you do to him? :O

Anyways, come on people, if you wanna know what happened to him, do some research. Assuming "Michael Blunck" is his real name, one should be able to find some news if something bad happened to him. Lets say the worst thing that could've happened is that he died (I hope not), then that info should be floating somewhere on the internet.

Just screaming "COME BACK MICHAEL" won't make him come back, neither does it give us info about where he is and what happened to him. Just let some German guy google his name and do some research, I'm sure he'd find something if there's something to find.

If the latest news is that he was moving, he may just not have an internet connection...

I don't think it's very smart to put that online. I suggest you get rid of it immediately!

I agree. I too would like to know what is the matter with Michael Blunck, but IMO this is going too far. Niek, maybe you know more than us and you have some good reason to believe that this particular Michael Blunck is "our" Michael Blunck. But then you should just try to call him yourself. If not, you should realise that even though Blunck is not a very common name, it is not extremely rare either (For example, I get 76 phone book entries for Blunck in the city of Hamburg alone). So just looking for addresses with people of that name seems dubious to me. And I would say that posting them here is legally rather questionable.

Removed the address - please don't post personal details of other members here. How would you like your address being broadcasted out to everyone and anyone?

Thankyou.

Excuse me, but I found that on Google, that's hardly personal then.

We don't need an address. We need info what happened to him.

I'd say that pasting an address from one website to another does not have anything to do with legality.

I'd prefer to be found than to be missing.
Here http://vkontakte.ru/id1402500 you can find my personal details, even mobile phone number and a list of people to connect if I'm lost.
Because my real name can be easily found at TTDP mail list archives and my personal information can be googled in 10 minutes, I see no reason to hide it.

I'm sorry that I don't speak Russian, George but please. Let's continu ON topic. If you really want you can start a "Rescue Michael Blunck" thread in the Off Topic forum section but still without pasting his personal details. You make the choice to post your personal details yourself, Michael Blunck didn't.

Well, may be I'm not correct, but think that the art belongs to the community. I do not even want to think about something bad happened to Michael, but if it is, I think it would be the best to keep all his work and to continue it.

P.S. Sorry for my bad English, looks like I could not find the right words to explain what I feel. Sorry for any misunderstanding it can lead to. Sorry. :(

The art belongs to Michael, and it will belong to him, by international copyright law, for years to come. Even if, heaven forbid, Michael has been in some accident and died.

The art, his art, was not created in the setting of 'the community', I understand he collaborated a bit with Raichase and other people on some of the ideas, but the code, the artwork, the combined package, are his creation, and for the most part a completely independant creation outside of the 'regular' transport tycoon graphics community. He was arguably one of, if not the first graphics artist for TTD. He does not owe us, the community, we owe him.

We, the community, have no stake in his work, to say that we should take over ownership of his works after his disappearance is downright theft.

On that note from Aegir, I'm going to ask that we let this thread die on it's own - there is nothing we can do about it, and a lot of people seem to be overreacting. I suspect that Michael has moved and is without internet access, or is moving his website elsewhere. It's all out of our control anyway, there is no point getting excited.

I'd ask that there be no more discussion on this, until he returns. I've vanished for long periods of time before, as have many other well known people in the community.

Thanks.
