[REQUEST]Modern USA Passenger Cars (Amfleet & Horizons)
In Locomotion, the last set of passenger and mail cars you get are ones from the 1960s. After awhile you do get the Eurostar set but they're not very American (well not at all). I wanted to know if someone can create a set of Amfleets and maybe Horizons so that we at least have some modern USA passenger cars to go along with the Superliners.

These cars are available for MSTS (Microsoft Rrain Simulator) on http://www.train-sim.com/ (has A LOT of American MSTS models)- but if you are going to convert this model (or others) for Locomotion and release it, you would need permission for the author to use them...

I was looking for something more on the lines of these (AEM-7s):
Most of the E60 fleet was put into storage in 1984 due to the arrival of the AEM-7s and all were srapped in 2003. And both the E60 and Amfleet are in PRR livery. I thought that both were made only for Amtrak.
And both Acela trainsets out now use the default set from MSTS. Someeone released a new Acela set back in 2002.

Well seeing that topic and the fact that you were in the progress of making a Genesis, would be able to convert these Superliners that were released last month too? It's located (all of it is) on the train-sim.com File Library.

tydev, don't say you want something better looking than what scrat's produced, it's caused all sorts of problems in the past and it's also a bit rude. I know which 'new' Acela you're referring to, it was released for both Trainz and MSTS - the differences are so subtle you would not notice after it's been shrunk down to Lomo size. The community's efforts are far better spent making new things instead of duplicating the old.
There is also more than one P40 available, and it comes with Superliners. What's wrong with them?
I'm trying to be diplomatic here, but you have to understand that just demanding piles of stuff (all of which, bar the AEM-7, has already been made) doesn't go down well with people who spend hours making all this stuff for free, for the sheer pleasure of it. If you really want these vehicles, why not download VC and make them yourself? You already have the MSTS files, that's a good start.
That E60, by the way, is in MBTA colours.

I didn't mean to be demanding, I just saw that you were in the process of making a US Rail set but never finished it so I was wondering that if you ever do, would you be able to include them. But you guys do have lives so I understand if any of you can't.
When Chris (or whoever) made Locomotion, he basically skipped right over all of the current and past Amtrak stock and only did freight locomotives along with a set of passenger cars from the Santa Fe set. He did include a lot European content though.
The content out now isn't bad though but it would be nice to have more US content.

I completely agree with you. The US content that came with the game was a total disgrace. And we do need more - we need the Budd EMUs, we need the GG-1, we need A&B F units, and more steamers.
We'll get there eventually, but let's fill in the gaps before we start polishing everything.

Without necessarily even making anything new, would it be possible to collect all the existing LoMo US stuff and release them all together in one batch? Not only would this make using them easier, it would clarify what's need and what's not.
GG1, anyone?

The GG-1, to my mind, is the one US vehicle we still need - it is both a good companion to the L&PS interurban and vital for building an electric network for freight early on. It's also an masterpiece of design (any who's seen the Animatrix - isn't the train in A Detective Story inspired by it?)

It would be ideal to combine all the US vehicles into one set, though. Easier to use.
