PLEASE READ: server downtime, users.tt-forums.net accounts
Hi,
Sorry about the server downtime, the hard disk decided it wanted to fail again. Unfortunately also, it failed just as I was trying to upload a backup of the forum. I have of course had other backup methods running over time, but due to recent problems, all posts from yesterday back to the 4th August are lost, and all attachments from the 31st July onwards are also lost, I believe.
You may find that attachments return 404 errors - there are a fair few gigabytes of attachments, and it is taking a while to upload, so please be patient, these should be backs soon.
EDIT: I have temporarily disabled the attachment mod until all attachments are uploaded again - otherwise, conflicts could arise between existing attachments and attachments yet to be uploaded. Apologies for the inconvenience, I hope this should be fixed by tomorrow.

All FTP logins were lost when the old hard disk died. I do have a list of most logins and will try to set these up, but if you find you can't login, then please send me a private message or an e-mail (owen[at]owenrudge.net).
Also note that, unfortunately, all MySQL databases for users accounts have been lost. I apologise for this, but unfortunately they were not backed up with the main tt-forums database, and so did not survive the disk crash. I would hope that databases users would have taken backups at some point. Please let me know if you need a database setting up and I shall do this.
Finally, the tt-forums news mailing list has been lost, I shall set this up again soon.
If you have any problems or queries, please post a message here.

The attachment mod is installed, I just disabled it in the control panel, because the files are still being uploaded by Rob (there are over 30,000 attachments, so obviously this takes some time!). It should be enabled again within a couple of hours, I hope!spaceman-spiff wrote:yeah, thanks owen and bummer that the attachment mod is a mod and not a standard issue
I still have that PM of yours in my inbox, I've just never quite got around to doing it... oh, on the subject of PMs, did you get my PM about your avatar? It's very nice, but it's a bit too big. Any comments, anyway, and send me a PM, rather than cluttering up this topic!George wrote:May be it is time to remind about the script to move the PMs to the e-mails?
I see, I have not made a db backup before I left, I hope it is still up to date.
And could you reinstall pear auth package?
Too bad server went down, hope it stays allright now.

Welcome Back Owen Glad to see the forums back up. I echo Purno's sentiment that it was extremely boring w/o them

The attachments should be back up soon, anyway.
