BigMap scenario

Post by UnknownID »

I haven't seen any bigmap scenario's yet, so i've created one 8) .

Its called Islands, Industries and Immense Cities. As the name says, this map features lots of Islands.
There are two very large islands in the centre with lots of industry and cities with around 10k people, and in the upper and lower part of the map, there are some medium sized ones.

There are a lot of industries, so you can build HUGE networks. It will not be very easy though, because of the long distances and moutains (and some dead vulcanos :P ).

There are also a few "odd" structures to be found in the map.

So, check it out ppl!

p.s. i created this map using nightly 1724, and with the x and y map size at 10.

First welcome !

It looks great... At least it doesn't have thousands of lakes like random big maps have, cool. :D
I'm gonna try it right now

PS : You could have posted it to the scenarios topic
It would be better if i was gliding

I made a new topic on purpose, so it wouldn't get lost in that big thread :) .
Also, other people that created a BigMap scenario can post it here too.

Feedback is welcome 8)

BTW, good job Devs! These big maps are awesome!

Put it there next time. Too many topics are really a waste..and later on nobody will find your scenario.

The numbers mean 2^#. So if you choose x:8 and y:6, you get a 2^8 = 256 tiles wide and 2^6=64 tiles long map.

It'll have to be rewritten to work with OpenTTD saved games anyway, as TTD saved games are just 256x256. One might as well wait for the new map array, as the saved game format will change with that.

Because 0.3.6 does not support bigger maps`? ;) Grab yourself a nightly version or wait for 0.4.0 which won't be released any time soon though.
