Custom Colors
I think that the locomotives should be colored in accordance with the player selected color schemes. For example, Union Pacific generally has all their locomotives colored yellow (along with some trim in red or black, for example). How hard would this be to include?

There's the North American Renewal Set for that

Re: Custom Colors
Converting a whole set to 2cc is quite some work, especially for the artist. You're probably better of with another set who's authors chose to use 2cc since the start, like the NARS DanMacK mentioned.k428 wrote:I think that the locomotives should be colored in accordance with the player selected color schemes. EDIT: Or my 2cc Set, but that one contains trains all over the world, not just America.

Re: US Set available [Trains v0.87.3 released 8 Mar 2008]
I'm a little more partial to the US Set than the NARS; it seems a little more realistic and updated. No offense to the authors of it though...
The 2cc set that Purno mentioned looks pretty cool; I'm willing to give any train-set a try just for interest. I don't mind that it contains a wide diversity of trains, in some ways that just makes the game more interesting.
EDIT: I also like the fact that is being kept updated.

Excuse me, where can I get the ECS adapter for the US set?

With the most current version, you don't need it anymore.

Re: US Set available [Trains v0.87.3 released 8 Mar 2008]
Yes that is correct. With v0.87.4d you DO NOT need to use the ECS vectors add on.
@krtaylor: I am not sure who has control over it but it might be a good idea to change the title of this thread to match the latest version and its release date.

Unfortunately it's the person who started the thread, namely Oracle, who alas has not been seen in a long while. Only the Mods can change it. Mods, if you're reading this, can you update the thread title for us?

Re: US Set available [Trains v0.87.3 released 8 Mar 2008]
I did a bit of back checking on some old posts and the title of the thread should be something to the effect of:
US Set available [Trains v0.87.4d released 27 April 2008]
Perhaps a PM to the one of the Moderators might be in order.

Re: US Set available [Trains v0.87.4d released 27 April 2008]
Sorry for this perhaps obvious question but why can I not use all the trains from the set in whichever climate I want? I have look through the readme and there doesn't seem to be any note of it. Also there are no parametres to set this. Sorry again if this has been answered already, I haven't been able to find an answer myself.
Re: US Set available [Trains v0.87.4d released 27 April 2008]
The set was coded so as to represent a typical railroad equipment mix in each of the three climates as represented by the most similar parts of the United States. The idea was to give you three somewhat separate games. At the time this set was made, there were hard limits on the number of trains in any one game. That's changed since, but no coding work has been done in a long long time, and unless a new coder shows up, none will be.

Re: US Set available [Trains v0.87.4d released 27 April 2008]
is this set able to run on openttd?
Re: US Set available [Trains v0.87.4d released 27 April 2008]
Yes.
Unless specified in the thread for the relevent GRF, all GRFs work in OpenTTD. If it works in TTDPatch, the chances are it works the same way in OpenTTD.
So yes, this any practically every other GRF works in OpenTTD.
