Hi,
I've downloaded and installed the scenario, and the "thomas" train pack, but so far in my game (1905 or so), i'm not seeing any "thomas" engines, just the stirling single and a tank enigne with near-identical stats whose name I forget right now- C2/2 or something.

Is it just too early for the "thomas" engines to appear or have I done somethign wrong?

Think you need to open the Sodor map in the scenario editor and select the Thomas set engines etc yourself

Yes that was it.

I've never tried a an extra scenario or extra engines before so ti was all a little new to me.

Thanks!

Well I've been having a lot of fun with this, last night I finished the main line, skarloey railway, and added edward's and thomas's branch lines.

I'll post some screens tonight but currently:
Thomas: opeating his branch line.
Edward: operating his branch line between wellsworth and brendam (though I think, from the books, he should be running all the way from tidmouth to brendam.
Henry: Main Line Express from tidmouth stopping at wellsworth, cronk, crovan's gate and Barrow
Gordon: Same service as henry
James: Slow train stopping at all main line stations
Percy: Slow mail train at all main line stations
Donald: takes coal from Shen mines to Crovan's gate
Douglas: the chemical run to barrow factory

Duncan's the only enigne running the skarloey right now.

I guess it's not possible to add engines to a scenario already in progress.

Much thanks to T-A-M for doing this- it's a shame the other "official" engines couldn't be released for permission reasons but even without them this is a great set of stuff and my son's goign to be delirious once he sees it all working.

I'm glad you like it. I do have all the models done, but I was never able to reach the guy who made them.

Please can you give the error... or better still, run a search on here - most errors have already been fixed.

I have some terrific news.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of this project, I'll be releasing a V2.0 of this scenario.

For this version, I will be starting from scratch - everything will be re-done. This means:

*More realistic landscape
*NO MODS!!!!!

Please, if you have any advice for how to improve this scenario, please tell me.

I might just have to have a go at the Isle of Sodor myself!

I also forgot to mention:

* Connect the towns using roads

* Fix the water level (the rivers will be level with the ocean).

* Use the SarahAgain System (SAS) to illustrate where tracks and stations should be built.

Of corse but that still does not tell me what the SAS is or how to use it.....

I would guess its some kind of markings on the ground witch shows you where to place stuff. Maybe a different ground type or something.

Anyway cannot wait for the new version.

It's the SAS!

The sarahagain system (SAS) (Nice name T-A-M! ).

MK 1 was to mark the track locations using splodges of "Dry Grass" texture.

MK2 was to mark entire lines of railway using "Dry Grass" texture. (as used in the Talyllyn map/scenario, stations were not marked.)

MK3 is MK2, but the station areas are marked using the "sand" texture.

It is great on straights, diagonal track is not too bad, but marking curves is a bit hit and miss, I have sometimes to load up the map/scenario and test the markings by laying track!

I am now using SAS MK3 for most of my map/scenarios....
