Zimmlocks creations develoment thread

Yes, support for arctic and tropic will be included in the next release. (I think you can all understand why toyland isn't supported ;)) Every building will have a snowy state, so variable snow line should be working OK. For tropic, the change isn't so noticeable, it's just some small variations on some buildings. The old and new road sets will come with appropriate snowy and sandy versions, too.

Now that that "real life" thingy is taken care of, coding is progressing nicely. I really hope I can finish TTRS 3.02 this week. The only two parts left are implementing narrow gauge support and fixing some offset problem in one of the new bridges. And, of course, some extensive testing to make sure no hotfix similar to 3.01 will be needed.

And now, because I'm so evil, I'm going to tease you with some screenshots :twisted:

Csaboke, looking great!! Those new buildings look tidy too!

(One request though, to the artists: Are we able to get a little more texture on the buildings so they dont stand out as much?)

Is that Pikka's bridge being supported? Good to see some more progress on this project, it is one of my favourites.
Perhaps I'll even start to play tropic or arctic climates now...

New buildings? There are no new buildings in 3.02. There are original arctic and tropic houses on the screenshots, maybe that's what's confusing you :)

Unfortunatly no gated crossings in the "old-time", but a lot of new bridges for both and new cargo-bays for the new-age.

Why not some new buildings for toyland? And about snow in toyland? It could be sugar or better cotton candy = pink snow :idea:

Damn, I think you may be right. I havent tried TTRS in Arctic yet :oops:

How about some extra textures though? Is that going to be on the list for the buildings :D or will they stay as they are :( ?

It's not the same just to do that. I think the Toyland buildings are difficult to recreate but could be the subject of a separate project.

No, there are to many roadsets to support, if you want the ttrs bridges you have to use the ttrs roads.

@Two5Kid: I don't think the set needs to be recoded for OTTD. It's more like OTTD being recoded to support newhouses in general. AFAIK, there is a branch that supports newhouses (and TTRS3) fairly well, but I can't give you links since I don't follow the development of OTTD.

@Everyone: It seems the last item on my todo is solved. I've sent the narrow gauge crossings to mart3p, and he promised that the next version of the narrow gauge rails GRF will support TTRS3. This may take some 5 or 6 weeks, though. I think it's more appropriate to have the narrow gauge crossings in the narrow gauge GRF, and people who don't use narrow gauge don't need to download the extra sprites. I'll send the GRF to Zimmlock soon, then he will decide how long he wants to beta test it before release.

It does't need to get recoded, cause Newhouses branch has been allready merged into the trunk. It means that new openttd nightly supports TTRS ;) http://www.openttd.org/nightly.php

blah... I'm really looking forward to 3.02 ;)
