Scenario Quest/Competition by #openttdcoop 2010 - 01

Post by tneo »

It has been way to long, but here it is the second OpenTTDCoop Scenario Quest Competition. In the scenario file you'll find the goals for this map. Deadline to submit the game is August 31st 23:59 CEST. Submitting can be done by raising an issue at the OTTD Dev Zone under category OSQC. Judgement will be done by members of OTTD.

What you need to play OSQC:
  • OTTD version 1.0.2 or newer nightly.
  • You need the #openttdcoop Grf Pack
  • Register yourself to submit the game at devzone
  • The right Scenario, which you can find here
You can add your game at the OSQC project. More details about judging can be found at the OSQC wiki page. Remember changing game settings a.k.a. cheating will disqualify your submission.

If you have any questions, post them here.
Good luck with the competition and enjoy the game.

Ok, just to be sure, game settings include all three menu's: "game options", "difficulty settings" and "advanced settings"? I just need to know this to be sure if I eg. can use the improved loading algorithm.

Yes, exactly.

The only thing which may be changed are those things which one could change without admin-rights as a client while connected to a MP server (signal distance, company colour, language, autoreplace-settings,...); changing the loading behaviour, a path finder, the vehicle limits, ... are not one of them.

Cheers,

As far as I know game settings are coop-server standard. The improved loading algorithm should already be on. :)

For the rest see planetmaker's reply...

Well I just tested in 1.0.3-RC1 and in the main menu improved loading algorithm is on, then I start the scenario, take a look at "advanced settings" where improved loading algorithm is then turned off.

All settings are correct (including the improved load balancing off).

I don't know if it is intended or not, but I have both the original road vehicles and the HEQS available. On the other hand, HEQS in 1970 only provide two trucks for coal and iron ore, but nothing else for any other cargo, so it would be a bit silly to not have road vehicles for oil or passengers.

HEQS only provides dumptrucks as far as I know, so you'll need to have an additional set of road vehicles.

Apparently users have some issues regarding GRF's used. All GRF's used can be found here.

I personally think, GRFs should not be used in competition. In that map, you gave used mostly only graphic changes anyway
