I wrote about that at the end of the page 5 of this topic.

Now I would outline my voting way.

The most important resolutions (for me) at which a title game should looks good are 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1440x900. 640x480 and 800x600 are also important but not the most (my title game starts looking quite good from 800x600 I think)

Title game candidate should also fits all preview resolutions without "end of the world" effect (eg. Mark's title game at 2560x1600 has such effect).

Airplanes speed should be set to 1/4 otherwise they look too mad (1/1 is good for playing not for the title game).

No train/train or train/vehicle crashes.

Good looking at high resolutions (I'm using 1920x1280).

I didn't vote for my game.

And then I left with two candidates only and after skipping "no crash" requirement 3rd place got Sc79 (I hope that if this title game wins mentioned easter egg will be removed)

As this easter egg was surely added on purpose and as that certainly has been a decision criterion for a number of people, I have no intention to remove the crash in the case that his submission should win.

Time for voting is over and we do have a winner :-)

A very good 3rd place is taken by Mark,
an excellen 2nd place taken by sc79
and the winner is ... Bluscreen!

congratulations :-) We'll add the savegame as titlegame to the 1.2 release branch in the next days.
You'll find the votes and the count in this spreadsheet

But at this place I'd like to thank all people who created a savegame for this year's titlegame competition. There are so many excellent entries that I found it very hard to choose a 'best one' myself. This given, I think we can offer all contestants a consolation price: I'll add a screenshot of each savegame to our official screenshot section on our main website as soon as time allows.

Thanks to all :-) And all those who didn't win this year: there'll be another contest next year :-)

Enjoy,

Congratulations!

And for the future competitions I have a one suggestion/feature request: Maybe it'll be a good time to introduce in OpenTTD 1.3 a title game for each climate theme? Switching between themes will change the title game to the game for the selected theme. What do you think?

While not quite the same, i think there was a patch for moving around a map, using signs, so you can show multiple locations in a savegame

Seperate title games for each climate sounds like a good idea! :) Instead of having the same title game all the time, OTTD could then select one at random each time you access the main menu.
