Re: [OTTD] Dutch Trackset Development Thread (Artists wanted
The Dutch Catenary will be on the 1500V DC tracks in r62 and later. Thanks to Purno for his original Catenary set and decoding it for me to get the sprites.

The tracks in l direction look shakey, like they have been bent by heat. I think that is because of the sleepers, they have a few brown pixels too much.Yoshi wrote: Edit: Is this better?

Final version for today...(in 27 minutes I could start again but I won't )
Re: [OTTD] Dutch Trackset Development Thread (Artists wanted
Looking good!
Few remarks (I do hope you see them as positive constructive criticism, because I like what you are creating here)
The sleepers should be a lot lighter than the rails, see pic:
About your picture:
1. The crossings look too "fat" to me, maybe a few less brown pixels will make them a bit slimmer
2. There is a pixel missing of the rails, It is however drawn in the single tile, so maybe that is a mock-up mistake

Yes this was a little mistake in the mockup...
Here are lighter sleepers:
(Also the crossing is edited...for comparison the lower one is the old one...)

Mind that he picture is definitely not betuweroute. The picture has 1500V DC catenary and a passenger train. Both don't belong to the betuwe route.
Probably it is near the junction with normal network at zevenaar.
I like your last version of betuwe tracks, it looks good.Yoshi wrote:Yes this was a little mistake in the mockup...

Re: [OTTD] Dutch Trackset Development Thread (Artists wanted
i think that the tracks are slightly too yellow, or at least appear a bit too yellow for me. maybe add more brownish or greyish tint to it
(that is on the lighter sleepers) the lighter color simply does not work that well for me

You're right, still my remark that the sleepers should be a lot lighter was still right:Mind that he picture is definitely not betuweroute. The picture has 1500V DC catenary and a passenger train. Both don't belong to the betuwe route.

It is better, but it still is quite yellow in my opinion. But I think with one or two steps browner it will look good.Yoshi wrote:Thats a little problem...is that better?Looks good, only the _ overlays look a bit too yellow in my opinion.

Re: [OTTD] Dutch Trackset Development Thread (Artists wanted
i think the tracks look yellow because the sleepers are a bit too yellow, maybe try to tone the sleepers a tad more brownish and the tracks a bit more redish/darkerYoshi wrote:What should be browner ? The sleepers in _ view?

Just some intermediate work on the crossing lights for the Metro tracks. I would like to get some feedback on it before continuing with it.
I think making the bottom light a bit dark yellow/brown to indicate which light it would be.

Looks good. If you want I can code* it coming weekend (given that real life doesn't provide me with other things to do ).
*It might graphically look a bit weird on level crossings, because those tracks are drawn over the road, so when using the tracks with sleepers those sleepers would also show on the road. But it is easier to fix those sprites once the normal sprites are fine, because then it only is changing some sleepers to transparent blue.

I thought, there are no level crossings for Betuwe-route....?

That was the original idea, but has been changed after some discussion to a parameter to enable/disable them.Yoshi wrote:Yes, coding would be niceLooks good. If you want I can code* it coming weekend (given that real life doesn't provide me with other things to do ).
