Re: The Thread Of Randomness
I can easily get myself over to London for a day or so. Can I easily stretch my finances to also buy myself food and drink, no. Not unless there is something akin to Huddersfield Market where I can buy bottles for 40p. I'd be surprised if you can buy anything for 40p in London

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Customers of Zernebok tend to get a free drink (alcoholic or not) at meets, as long as I'm there of course!
Re: The Thread Of Randomness
I could probably manage it being a habitant of the home counties these days.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Birmingham would be my plan for next year; it was back in 2007 that the first meet happened.

Brum seems like a good central place, not sure how foreign links are to Brum though?

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Should be easy enough to get a plane to London or Manchester and then get the train up. There are also direct flights to Birmingham from various hubs (Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt) and various low-cost options (Ryanair, Wizz Air, etc).
To be fair, nowhere in the UK is that difficult to get to really!

Sir Terry Wogan has died today at the age of 77, after a short battle with cancer. Wogan was best known to UK audiences for presenting BBCs Children in Need telathon, Eurovision Song Contest, and the original presenter of Blankety Blank

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Best known for 40 odd years of the radio 2 breakfast show arguably. Had a bigger following than Radio 1's breakfast show, even in the Moyles era.
What a guy though, definitely be missed from many a broadcast.

Slight problem with my PC....
Having fone some remedial work on the cooling system it now refuses to start up properly, I am getting no picture on the monitors. I am assuming its a GPU issue?

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Probably the most likely case, in any case. If you have multiple monitors it's unlikely they all died at the same time. Could however also be a problem with the mainboard socket. If you have a different GPU around, you could check that. Could, I suppose, also be a PSU problem; not giving enough power for the GPU.
Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Now this is the thing - I don't have a spare GPU lying around to check it... I did have some for my old rig but they appear to have been misplaced... Everything is less than 12 months old so I'm a bit miffed that something has broken.
Edit: Have now got it back running with the existing GPU... Think I'll invest in a new and improved GPU soon.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
I once had a computer where the screens did not work, as I connected the screen to the motherboard port instead of the GPU port.
