If there are 2 stations next to each other with the same station name, eg a train station and an Airport, and both are next to a large town that makes passengers, is there a formula that determines how many passengers go to the train station and how many go to the airport?
eg the station has 100 passengers waiting and there is a train waiting to pick up passengers and there is a plane waiting to pick up passengers, do they each get 50 passengers, or is there some other criteria.
Reason for asking is that I have this scenerio and the trains seem to be filling up first, and the planes will only start to fill if there are passengers waiting and no trains waiting to take them.
tnx

Re: Station sharing rules.
It kinda depends...
Assuming that both have the same Station ID in the game, then by they all share the same passengers and the passengers don't care by which means they travel so long as whatever method gets them to a destination. So it's basically whichever vehicle gets there first.
Now if you have Cargo Distribution enabled in the settings, that does change it up a little bit as the passengers will have specific stations on your network that they will want to get to, and will prefer to do so as directly as possible with as few intermediary stations as possible. But it doesn't sound like you have this enabled in your game.

Re: Station sharing rules.
If the stations share the station sign (i.e. are logically the same station), and there are two vehicles both waiting to load cargo/passengers at the same time, then the vehicle that arrived and started loading first will get to load the cargo first.
If the stations have each their own station sign (are actually separate stations), then they will get cargo distributed according to the station rating for the cargo on each station. If one station has a 40% rating for passengers and the other station has an 80% rating for passengers, then the 80% rating station should get double the number of available passengers. (I'm actually not sure how the distribution works exactly in this case, and it might be more than double.)

Re: Station sharing rules.
Thanks all, Ill have to play around and reduce the rate at which the trains arrive,so that the planes get a go.
